Trying to keep positive, how is it possible?
Hello everyone, As you can see, I gave myself a number, which with hindsight rather makes me look as if I came from a concentration camp! Wish that I had chosen a username instead. I was diagnosed with dry AMD, around last October, 2017. I was shocked to the core because I was not aware of any visual

Fatty Liver? Haven't felt Good in Months
Can you have cirrhosis with a fibroscan of 4.3? I've had constant Right and left upper quad pain for three months. I've been a daily drinker for 10 years. Have had CT and ultrasound. Both showed a fatty liver. ALT was at upper limit for a couple years. Quit drinking 3 months ago and all labs have

Hi.... I hope you are all well. I am asking for a friend... no honestly I am! Who has a horrible ex who has emotionally abused her and is now taking her to court to try and take her son away. I have known her a long time and sometimes we have a glass of wine together and on rare occasions when neither

Insufficient advice on diagnosis of permanent liver damage
My husband was admitted to hospital 6 days ago with bleeding oesophageal varices, Black poo, asisites and jaundice. His blood was not clotting as well. He has had his varices banded and been given 4 blood transfusions along with loads of Saline and vitamin K plus other meds intravenously. He saw the

Anybody here with Central Retinal vein occlusion CVRO
-- and associated macular edema??? I was diagnosed with this and had an injection almost immediately. At that time, my vision loss was not very bad and within 1 week I had gained my vision. BUT - I was unable to have another injection for 9 weeks and by that time my vision was VERY bad with quite severe

Possible misdiagnosed Macular Degeneration at 17 years old?
4 years ago, when I was 17, my vision got drastically worse and an opthalmologist told me I’ve got macular degeneration (my mom had it). I was also told that your condition cannot improve, you can only control it after it gets diagnosed. I got some meds prescribed, which, as an irresponsible teeen,

How to prepare for my first Eyelea/lucentis injection and is it safe to fly 4 days later
My doc is not absolutely sure if I have wet macular but I have definite vision change in left eye ( dry amd in both eyes) and while he says its not typical, he wants to try eyelea or lucentis to get rid of fluid I have on the retina ( i had CSR ten years ago). Problem is I am scheduled to to a 22 hours

Severe macular oedema
A few months ago, I thought that I needed new spectacles so I went to an optometrist who immediately referred me to an ophthalmologist telling me that I had retinal bleeding in the right eye. The opthamologist diagnosed me to have a macular oedema consequent upon a retinal vein blockage and gave me

Tips for newcomers please
As a newly diagnosed sufferer of the wet version of age-related macular degeneration I am now being injected monthly in both eyes with a loading dose for the next three months. May I ask if between injections I can safely use moisturising eye drops ? Is there anything I can do the ease the discomfort

Info on MIL
Hi, I haven't commented for quite a while as we are very busy looking after family with illnesses. MIL is at the moment in hospital, she was very confused and doing some bizarre things. Mil has decompensated Cirrhosis of the liver, non alcoholic. She had ascites in 2015 and had 12 litres fluid drained
