Hepatic Encelopathy
Peeps has been suffering from HE for at least two years, the episodes are accelerating and are becoming more irrational and impossible to deal with. He reeks of ammonia despite maximum dose Lactulose, Rifaximin and daily enemas from the District Nurse. He is also being treated for an ongoing Campobylacter

Myopic CNV long term stability outcomes?
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum I was diagnosed with MMD in my left eye 5 years ago in my early 20's and have been receiving injections in my left eye every 4 months for the last 5 years. I was left with scar tissues that distorts the central vision in that eye but still stable and able to read somewhat

ALT elevation, Liver question
Hi everyone first post ... so here it goes I’m 34/f, fit, I use to drink (mild, just causally). I am seeing a heptologist due to mild fluctuating ALT over the last few years and my ggt is elevated too. MRI normal, ultrasound normal x2 , had a liver biopsy normal but they didn’t get enough of a sample

Diabetic Macular Edema
I started having eye problems and told my doctor who just said it was my age! I knew it was happening too quickly and went to see an optician who gave me a digital retinal scan and told me I have Macular Edema and referred me to hospital in December. I finally saw the specialist mid March and he

Hi , anybody with liver compensated cirrhosis use Simvastatin and Carvedilol My doctor suggest that both these drugs may help in delaying progression of fibrosis/portal hypertension)

What are your experiences?
Hello everybody. I am absolutely terrified as I have decompensated cirrhosis newly diagnosed. Lockdown has meant delays in seeing a specialist and I have oedema and ascites. Read online that life expectancy is 1 to 3 years and am just so scared. My fibroscan was 21.3kpa.

INTENSIVE CARE - Covid-19
Hi all, My Dad is very sadly in intensive care on a ventilator with Covid-19. Very difficult as obviously can’t visit and reading the news and stats his prognosis is not good. I thought I’d read on here about other conditions with similar presentation in terms of what’s going on in ICU. He currently

No current monitoring
I have advanced alcoholic liver disease but appear to be starting to compensate. Ascites under control etc. I am supposed to have monthly bloods done, a review appointment at the hospital with the consultant and a three monthly GP review. I know I am not well but actually I feel fine (well comparatively

I have moderate - severe
dilated
cardiomyopathy
. I couldn't carry on working, mainly because, as a psychotherapist, I felt while I had no control of symptoms, I couldn't take on clients.

Corona virus & fatty liver?
Please can someone help me by answering this. If I have non alcohol related fatty liver, does that mean I have liver disease and am at higher risk of getting the corona virus? Thank you.

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting here. Please be easy on me! Anyway, I am a 40 year old girl with stage 4 cirrhosis. I really don't know how to wrap my head around it. I find myself feeling completely not believed or something? Did anyone else experience this? But, physically the most

Fatty liver reversal.
Happy Saturday everyone ! Can I just ask if any of you were successful in reversing alcoholic fatty liver disease ? I’ve been on a really good path for nearly 6 months (barr the odd glass) and hoping for good results in April 🤞September scan showed moderate fatty liver, no scarring or inflammation and
