Where can I find good information about the readings on PSA tests. As I have posted earlier, my husband had the prostate removed, developed a rezidiv after 5 years, was treated with Proton (based on Hydrogen) radiation in Heidelberg January this year. PSA went down from 0,8 to 0,3. now after 3 months, it looks like 0,05. we have no idea if this is good or bad, I hardly find anything about this reading. Has anyone had experience with this?

You need to add the units for the PSA test result especially because Europe often uses different units from the ones used in the USA (ng/mL). But as has been said, down is good!
He is 79 years old, we are in Germany, the best clinic for him is Heidelberg, they work with new radiation.
It would be a good idea to add his bio to his HU bio.... and/or mention that you and your Dear Husband are in Germany.
I am NOT a doctor but here in the US, the gold standard is that your (his) PSA is zero (zed) after the decimal (you're posting a comma (,)). Thus 0.01 is better than 0.10..... So basically any number(s) after the 0. are thought to be okay. Now if your number (his) is before the decimal (e.g. 1.0) the thought is that's not good. Now if the number is 2.0 or higher (greater) that's bad.
To reiterate in pictures: 0.01 etc. or 0.10 etc. is considered good (but 0.01 is better than 0.10)
Any number 1.00 is not too good and once the number reaches 2.00 (or greater) that's time for more action....
The key to our system is where that period (decimal point) is located.
If I screwed this up is because I don't speak German.
Wenn ich das vermasselt habe, liegt das daran, dass ich kein Deutsch spreche.
There is not much of a bio, he was operated by DaVincy to remove the prostate, the PSA was 9, the Gleason was 4 and 5. PSA went down to 0,1. Five years later, the PSA increased to 0,8, a pet scan indicated a rezidiv. The Urologist ordered radiation, which was done in Heidelberg, under a Program called HIT. He still is on checkup everery 3 months and has to fill out paper work for evaluation. His PSA, went down to 0,2, after radiation, and now, after 3 more months to 0,05. Appearantly it is good, he has no other treatments
If you wish just cut and paste this to his bio :He was operated by DaVincy to remove the prostate, the PSA was 9, the Gleason was 4 and 5. PSA went down to 0,1. Five years later, the PSA increased to 0,8, a pet scan indicated a rezidiv. Include his age and his location?
All info is voluntary but it helps us help him and helps us too. Thank you!!!
