I think I have just experienced the worst 24 hours of itching in my life, I am red raw, sore, very tired and feeling sorry for myself which I hope everyone realises I don't do very often.... And I am definitely putting down to the increase of my advagraf as it begins a few hours after I take them,

Rehab?
Has anybody here successfully gone through rehab after falling off the wagon? I told my consultant at the time that allowing me to cut down wouldn't work - it's like dangling a carrot in front of a starving donkey - but he asked me to try anyway. Well, I've been trying for a year, and getting nowhere

So as some of you know I work full time and it takes about 30 minutes for me to drive to work. My morning routine is pretty consistent, I leave for work about 0630 always ensuring that I have visited the bathroom before I go. Being on 200mg Spiro and 40mg Furosemide we all know its a necessity!! I know

I am scared that it is just a matter of time before it happens. I don't know how long i had it and didn't know there was anything wrong. I have

Changing diet
Hi I've been diagnosed with fatty liver disease and told to lose weight by my GP. I am trying but wondered if anyone out there has been told specifically what to eat/not eat by a Dr/dietician. Are there specific foods that affect liver surprisingly, for example? I drink a lot of herbal tea but not sure

Nodular regenerative hyperplasia
I was just told today that I have nrh. It has been a long journey to diagnosis. I developed psoriasis. Then started having symptoms of crohnes. Then they noticed my spleen was enlarged. Then they discovered portal hypertension. I have had lots of bleeding in the bowels, but the assumption has been

Fatty liver disease the silent epidemic
Your diet and exercise regimen has a tremendous impact on your health. Lack of a healthy diet and exercise increases risk for fatty liver disease. There are two types of fatty liver disease nonalcoholic fatty liver and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Of the two, NASH is more serious and may result

Inflammatory Bowel Disease and liver health
Early diagnosis and treatment is important to prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) may have an increased risk for NAFLD. Get tested to reduce the risk.

Fatty Liver
Hi, I've been told a while back by my doctor that I had a fatty liver. My history is I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013 and consequently started a course of Chemo. I think my fatty liver started from there but can't be sure. My doctor does regular blood checks and I made an appointment a couple

Diet change.
I went to see my specialist nurse the other day. She's lovely and we get on really well, the trouble is we end up talking about irrelevant things. So this time I made a concerted effort to ask something useful. Which was if I had a fatty liver or not. The answer to which was yes. I had already cut right

Recent diagnosis of Fatty Liver
While being checked for something else, I have just recently been diagnosed (from an ultrasound) with having a fatty liver. I have been a heavy social drinker (one or two cocktails and then red wine with dinner) almost every evening. I never got drunk so maybe I just have always had a high tolerance

Rifaximin and meat
I have been diagnosed as having mild hepatic encephalopathy and prescribed Rifaximin by my HEP. to clear toxins from my blood. I have read that I should only eat a little meat but can't determine what is a "little?" I am trying to eat more vegetable proteins as well as lots of fruit and veg. Can anyone

Pain!
I had a bit of a fall off the old wagon last weekend celebrating a family birthday and then the match the following day. Thought I'd be fine seeing as I'd felt great and hadn't had any beers since the Festive period. Wrong! Since yesterday I've had discomfort on my right-side and felt nauseous at times

What questions should I ask?
My husband is 64 and an alcoholic who was diagnosed last year with cirrhosis. We have been living apart for over a year now but I still do what I can to support him. My husband now lives in Scotland whilst I am in London. During the 12 months we have been apart he has been in and out of hospital several

I miss my dad so much😓
Its been near 7 months, since I lost my dad from hepatic encephalopathy stage 4. What I seen on that final day still haunts me, i cant seem to get by it at all. Decomponsated Liver cirrohsis, is a very cruel condition. Once it progessed, day by day, my dad just started to waist away, infront of my eyes

Dad end stage liver disease
My Dad was diagnosed about 30 years ago with Non alcoholic steatohepatitis. September 2016 had a massive bleed and been in hospital 4 times since. He is home and has been since Dec 2016. He does not want to go back into hospital, which I totally understand. He is not able to have a transplant and has

NASH Cirrhosis (De Compensating)
My dear husband aged 74 has been diagnosed with NASH De Compensating Cirrhosis of the Liver. He has ascites which needs draining every 2 weeks. My biggest worry in all this is that he has extreme personality change as the fluids build up. He displays parania type behaviour and very aggressive. He is
