What about alcool if I reverse an alcoolic fatty liver?
First of all I do apologise for my " poor " English but I am not a UK citizen.I was diagnosed with alcoolic fatty liver ( apparently stage 1 ) 6 weeks ago and since then I am questioning myself. I cut down alcool, eat healthier as much as I can, and keep on exercising myself as I always do. I manage

Rifaximin
Still having a battle trying to get Rifaximin prescribed on the NHS, the cogs seem to move so slowly .... so I took the private prescription in to the chemist and we now have four weeks supply for £320! Whatever it takes, that was ten days ago and meantime together with the lactulose, it does not appear

Please don't judge me I'm a hard working 32 year old male. Today I had an ultra sound the nurse giving me the ultra sound must have been quite experienced as she was teaching another nurse and they were quite thorough. When she finishe her actual words were "all done everything is normal but you have

Palliative Care
At what stage should you initiate palliative care for someone who has stage 4 cirrhosis (end-stage)? Does the GP need to refer them for palliative care or can this be initiated yourself? Worsening fatty liver?
Hello, I am now here and I wonder if anyone can share their wisdom. 2 years ago I went to my GP with upper right pain under my ribs and he sent me for an ultrasound in that general area. All was fine except it was noted I had a 'mild fatty liver'. On looking at my history and what alcohol I consume

Non alcoholic fatty liver disease
Hi, I was recently told (16th December) that I have NAFLD. This kinda worries me a bit as I don't know much about it. This was found on a MRI scan (mrcp) for another condition. I have had a genetic blood test and a liver function etc done and as of yet not got the latest results. Hopefully the results

Cirrhosis just diagnosed loads of questions
Evening all. I was diagnosed today and whilst I was able to ask some questions I have loads more. I'd welcome any answers you might have. Is it usual for them to assume it is alcohol related? I ask because I did have a problem for a couple of years drinking 1 to 2 bottles of wine each day but I was

Liver pain. How long to repair? Am I doing it right? Feeling frustrated and on my own with it.
After a bit of a bad phase and far too many binge drinking sessions, I woke one morning with horrendous pain in my right side and a swollen/rock hard liver. Docs ran Liver function, test Gamma GT raised (80) but not severely high but higher than it should be, my doctor was unalarmed but sent for ultrasound

Mri scan of liver showing "an abnormality suggestive of HCC."
Hi. What does this mean - likely cancer? If not, what else could it be and what treatment would be used. We got told this today by letter, I don't think that is how you should find out such information. My husband is 60 with NASH liver disease, oesophageal varices and subclinical hepatic encephalopathy

Personality change when drinking alcohol
Hubby was diagnosed hep c 20 yrs ago been drinking 90 units alcohol per week. Become very temperamental and aggressive. I am now living away from home. Would mood swings be due to liver disease? He is also very paranoid

End stage liver disease and kidneys failing
It has been a LONG journey with my dad to say the least. He has been an alcoholic for 15 plus years and has survived MANY near death/alcohol related accidents. His last drink was June 1 and his health has declined greatly over the past few months. (It's been declining but this is way worse) It's
