How to escape Augmentation?
I only learnt about Health Unlocked and its efforts on RLS through RLS -UK and this is my first post. I have suffered from RLS for several years and various doctors have prescribed all the general medicines starting with antidepressants (amitriptyline, mirtazapine, imipramine, and citralopram), dopramine

The environment makes the cells says Bruce Lipton. The importance of isolating the supposedly sick person...
"There are cells that can come to know their true essence by going beyond their environment and their conditioning" Parkinson's is caused by intense fears whose original cause, being the "effect" itself at a multifactorial biochemical level, comes from tendencies in perception established by a process

Surrendering to Parkinson's is not "throwing in the towel" it is "changing it for a new one."
Probably if you are affected by PD it is because you have always lived trying to achieve something that did not reach you. You moved forward in fits and starts. Everything seemed to be going well until you observed an obstacle that stood in your way, plunging your body into a nest of pure stress, a constant

On the Holistic origin of Parkinson's
The symptom is "the straw that broke the camel's back" not the beginning of the disease as such... Imagine two people reacting to the same traumatic event. One experiences it from an intense fear due to its configuration and the other experiences it in a less intense way. The body of each of them generates

Augmentation - Can Aripiprazole reduce symptoms
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.2147/NSS.S421189 An interesting article on alleviating the symptoms of dopamine agonist augmentation with Aripiprazole. Aripiprazole is an atypical anti psychotic and there are a few reports from 2010 that showed it might help RLS. Sadly only 4 people took part

Pramipexole - Confused
Probably being a bear of little brain about this, but wanted to ask: I am currently taking 300mg of Pregabalin every night for RLS. It is kind of ok, but has not helped with weight gain or mental clarity, and doesn’t always work! I get RLS during the day too. I have MS too and so get up 3 or 4

Autism and RLS
I work with autistic young people. One young man shows all the symptoms of RLS which appears sensory and autistic in nature but wondering if anyone knows of any links between autism and RLS and more importantly how to support this young man who is non verbal. Having read about the dopamine link, wondering

Clinical severity in PD is determined by decline in cortical compensation
In Parkinson's disease, the cerebral cortex can take over tasks from a deeper part of the brain that is damaged, and where cells that make dopamine have been lost. That degree of compensation by the cerebral cortex determines how many complaints people have. This is evident from a publication by the

repairing dopamine receptors
Off requip now for a couple of months after 20+ years and on gabapentin 700mg. Wondering now about "repairing dopamine receptors"? Can someone point me in the direction of info on this? What is the effect of "un-repaired dopamine receptors"? Thanks!!

Update on rls
Hello everyone, just an update to let you know how I have been getting on since coming off the dopamine agonist. It's around 3 months now since I took my last tiny piece of pramipexole, after a pretty rough time of crawling legs, arms, shoulder shivers, I'm finally getting better!!! While coming off

Switching from Ropinrole to eg Gabapentin
Hi everyone, I’m wondering if someone can advise about going from dopamine agonists - specifically Ropinrole - to the gabapentin type of medication ? My mum is suffering terrible drowsiness (as well as many other symptoms) and I think it’s time to try to do this. it’s not the first time I’ve asked

why docs don’t want to prescribe opioids for RLS….😔
With all the recent total panic by docs on not prescribing opioids, I thought I would just attach Andy Berkowski’s excellent piece on why we are often being refused opioids now and almost certainly in the future at least for sometime. You may well have read this article before Kakally Andy Berkowski
