Hello everyone
I thought I would come and join this community; after having staved off
dialysis
for some ten years through diet and careful living, It looks like I shan't be able to put it off any longer - last egfr is 9%. Due to have a blood test in a couple of days ready for renal consultation next week.

Acute Kidney Injury - Recovery
Vomiting blood Was immediately given antibiotics and put on

Low or very low protein diets. If you've no uremia, will you obtain any benefit?
Thus: IF you eat less protein THEN you will produce less urea AND SO your uremia improves AND SO you stave off
dialysis
. - But over this last while I've come across folk with CKD 3/4 who DON'T have uremia.

Left Side Face Pain and Dialysis??
I went to the ER, and spent a week in the hospital where I started on
dialysis
. It has been an unpleasant experience on many days, mostly due to odd side effects. The worst of which is a pain in the left side of my face, kind of like a headache, that tends to settle around my left eye.

Proctitis flare - how best to manage
Recent science/Kidney authority recommendations indicate that a very low protein, plant-based diet slows or even halts progression of what has been considered, to date, a progressive, non-stop disease which will end in death or
dialysis
or transplant.

So one day no kidney issues, the next day
dialysis
. That actually has nothing to do with my question, just a little background on me -- maybe I'll start checking in every now and then. So anyway, I'm going to start peritoneal
dialysis
at home.

New treatments
And the other one is like a
dialysis
machine but for the liver.. As far as I know there in trails. The shocking figure of 800 million people world wide has some form of liver disease without even knowing. Thats about 1 in 10 of the population. Something needs to be done very fast.

Introduction post
Hello I am 72 years old and I just recently started
dialysis
for my kidney disease. I am also looking into getting a donor kidney and prior to receiving that I have to lose at least 40 pounds and become much healthier. I am hoping this program will help me in both of those endeavors.

Need info on weight gain and PD
I am learning about different
dialysis
methods. My nephrologist is leaning toward PD when the time comes. However, I am hearing that PD can put on weight very easily. How do people deal with that? And how, if your diabetic, do you deal with the glucose solution?

Below Dry Weight
I recently started
dialysis
. and I have been losing some weight on the diet restrictions. Every time I go for
dialysis
they weigh me and every time I leave they weigh me on the way out. I have had a concerned nurse tell me more than once that I was "below my dry weight".
