Do l have Peripheral Neuropathy?
I am a diabetic, last 10 years on Metformin 500 mg twice daily with Glimipride 2mg. Now having hot sensations, tingling in the legs, some times fingers, and wondering if its neuropathy due to B12 deficiency? Surprising none of the expert docs told me check out blood B12 levels! Realised need after reading

I've signed up for Tim Spector's ZOE study looking at blood sugars and gut health
I've long had an interest in how the foods we eat affect inflammation and weight and generally follow low -carb eating, although I often lapse and am not as diciplined as Id like to be. So this sounds fascinating to me, especially as I'm also interested in gut-health science. Taking part starts by

magnesium, potassium, taurine combo supplement?
I was doing some research and came across this plan which suggests taking the above 3 supplements. I'm aware magnesium has been discussed and recommended but wasn't ware of the combination. Does anyone take all 3 or have any links to other articles regarding the benefits? Does anyone have a UK source

GCA Flare
My GP has always been very responsive and ordered 60mg. prednisolone for GCA over 10 months now. This last visit I had to ask for a diabetes monitor because of symptoms noticed by my visiting nurse. He complied and ordered one. I have been fluctuating between high and low blood sugar. He was very

Radiation CAT scan mapping
I’m starting radiation and scheduled for CAT scan mapping of pelvic floor. Any advice on how to ensure maximum accuracy of this process? The clinic wants me to take gas-x and milk of magnesia a week prior. Assume this is to prevent full bowels to ensure that the mapping is accurate and won’t affect

Breakthrough episode (Update)
My EP only put me on a miniscule dosage of sotalol as I was doing it out of hospital and couldn't be directly monitored (40mg twice a day). I feel 1000 times better, no kidding, since starting the sotalol even at this low dose. No more daily PVCs, no more extreme fatigue. After checking my QTC to

a 24 hour FAST regenerates stomach stem cells!
Today is O.M.A.D. #331 (one meal a day with all calories -- usually 1,500 or less -- eaten within a two hour window). I've lost 60 pounds (another 30 to go!) and it was pretty, damn easy! I eat pizza (cauliflower crust), meat, dairy, fruit, potatoes... but in moderation. I came across a new YouTube

Creatine Clearance while on Edoxaban
I’m sitting in Spain today ( bright sunshine and frost - lovely ) and idly checked my NHS record. I was interested to see on my record that today while I was climbing on a mountain I had had a consultation at my surgery and my Creatine Clearance had been calculated without any notification, without

Diuretics
Hi, has anyone been recommended to take a diuretic for mild/moderate left ventricular impairment but no symptoms of water retention such as breathlessness, swollen ankles? My husband (age 65) had an echocardiogram in February last year, ejection fraction 40%, also mild/moderate regurgitation. A few days

Prednisone and Blood Sugar Levels
I am wondering what other member’s experience has been with prednisone and increasing A1c levels? I had been very consistently in the normal range for long term blood sugar levels until I started the prednisone last August. Since the prednisone, my levels have gradually crept up into the pre-diabetic

Urine Calcium Test tips?
As my GP has me down as a hypochondriac malingerer I need some evidence to force testing of calcium properly. I can’t afford a £150 6 hour round trip London clinic test so some internet research led me to a £25 set of 10 dipsticks. I’m ready for the ‘waste of time’ responses and see an endo responses

Prescribed Diamox, on pred, not feeling good
Hi. I’m currently stable for PMR on 8mg. I have macula odeama in one eye, the last ozurdex injection was in December. Check up on Thursday showed no odeama and the retina is holding but pressure was up to 33. Dr prescribed Diamex, with Diffu X to protect potassium, and additional drops. I took 2 x 250mg

Has anyone become diabetic from taking prednisone? I am on a low dose, alternating between 5mg and 2.5mg . My recent blood work indicated that I am now pre diabetic. My BMI is 24.5 and I rarely eat complex carbs, never drink alcoholic beverages or carbonate sodas. I am very careful with my diet. I

Anti-MAG peripheral neuropathy
Has anybody been diagnosed with Anti-MAG peripheral neuropathy? I was told I had this yesterday by letter from my Neurologist after many blood tests and nerve conduction tests. Must admit I am really scared as apparently it is a rare form of neuropathy. Has anybody heard of it?
