How did your Docetaxel rechallenge compare to your original chemo treatment?
Mr. Spouse 21 is starting a Docetaxel rechallenge next week--3 rounds then another PMSA-PET scan. If you did a Docetaxel rechallenge as well, can you compare your early experiences with the rechallenge in terms of side effects and effectiveness and where you are now? He developed neuropathy despite using

Prednisolone/PMR - Hysteroscopy
I have no idea if I am making a fuss over nothing, I find it so hard to tell and I am alone. I had a hysteroscopy under general anaesthetic on Wednesday. All went well, except for pain after the procedure, pain probably related to scarring from previous surgery in that area. On 6 mg pred atm. I didn't

The steroid with zytiga can be a deal
My Dads new oncologist switched his steroid from prednisolone to dexamethasone - she was distressed at first appointment to see he was on zytiga and prednisolone. She said research pretty clear that dexamethasone is better. On today's PSA results she is clearly correct. We thought that he had become

Aqueous shunt implant surgery
Hi Everyone, I have just been recommended the Aqueous shunt surgery. I have had Glaucoma for years (since 30s, now I'm in my mid 40s) and was on latanoprost and everything was working well until I had the retina detachment surgery in May and my pressure will not drop, tried various drops without much

Side Effects Pt 2
So visit to the hospital didn’t go as hoped. As I feared, not much understanding of husband’s side effects and my concerns about his pre existing conditions and his low mood due to 10 drops a day. Pressure in eye with failed trab was 30, so acetazolomide prescribed despite our reservations after side

Hi All, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor grade 2 Ependymoma in March of 2024. I had surgery but the doctor could only remove 10 To 15 % because of the location and several nerves surrounding the mass. I had radiation but after completion there was no change. Didn’t shrink but also didn’t grow.

Sensitive / Surprise Natural Pregnancy - Anxiety triggered
Hi all, A long post so I hope you can stay with me! It has been a while since I’ve written my own post on here but I’m always following others journeys and comment when I feel I can offer some support from afar. A little background; I’ve experienced two miscarriages and went through 2 IVF cycles

Should go into the OMAHA2a ODM-208 (MK-5684-004): phase 3 trial?
I had my 3 monthly OC visit last week. Blood test is showing 0.3 up from 0.15 six weeks ago. MO is suggesting that I should go into the ODM-208 (MK-5684): phase 3 trial if PSA rises above 1.0. PSA of 1.0 or above is a entry requirement for the trial, presumable to be sure that my current treatment

Timing of Docetaxel
Hello. Am now in year 10. Details in profile. For 2+ years have been taking Zoladex, Zytiga and Prednisolone. The CT bone scans and Nuclear medicine full body scans every 6 months show no radiographic progression and I feel ok, apart from fatigue when not active. Recently have some discomfort

Lynparza - warning!
I'm writing this in pure agony in hopes, that it might help someone in the future. My father is castrate resistant and when Xtandi stopped working, his MO put him on dexamethasone + abiraterone + Lynparza (olaparib). This combo is now registered in European Union even for men without BRCA mutation

Good bye and good luck to you all !
I am leaving PMRGCA uk and this group sadly I have to deal with terminal lung cancer that has moved into the bones. The NHS cannot cure only seek containment. I now have a major daily drug intake including dexamethasone (which replaces the parked 5mg maintenance prednisolone!) As I say goodbye I want

Incomplete Behcets?!
So, my question is, has anyone on here been diagnosed with incomplete Behcets?! At my 2nd CoE appointment at Liverpool in July, I was! They are saying that as I don't fulfill the ISG 1990 criteria (I have 2 out of three symptoms), that they cannot diagnose me properly. However, under the ICBD criteria

Time it takes to kick in - prednisone vs prednisilone?
Hello everyone, I'm having trouble finding an answer to this and I was hoping someone here might know. From what I understand, prednisone is a pro drug, so it has to be converted in your liver first and takes around 2 hours to fully kick in. Whereas prednisolone is already the active version, so it

Does this look like lupus rash?
Hi everyone. I started with a flat purple rash last Tuesday. It’s spread across my stomach and down the front of my thighs. Then a more sporadic raised rash started on shoulders, back, and then my hands and arms on Friday evening. The first marks on upper body looked like I’d scratched the skin. Yesterday

My uncle, a very fit 88-year old, was diagnosed with prostate cancer 3 1/2 years ago and while the hormonal treatment kept it in check for a couple of years, his PSA has now risen to 1600 and the scans show has spread to his bones. He has been tinkering with different hormonal regimes, abiraterone
