Depo provera side effect?
Been on the depo provera shot for about 9 months and I had my 4th shot on June 6th due another on August 29th, I had bleeding trouble for a long time which finally stopped the end of may. Wednesday night I bled a little, around enough to fill one pad but I didn't bleed at all through the day, Thursday

Stuck In Greece with PMR
For several reasons, wont bore you but I am stuck living on a small old boat in Grrece and unable to afford to change the situation. Five years ago I was struck down with the terrible symptoms of shoulder and buttock pain, not being able to clean my teeth or raise from the loo. After 4 or 5 months of

Nutri Adrenals Extra
I have a question about this product, as I know many here use it and seem happy with it. Has anyone here gone from prescription HC or prednisolone to NAX, and found the latter to be equally effective? I am asking as I seem to need something for my adrenals. I have been taking adrenal cortex since weaning

adrenal fatigue questions
Earlier this year, I managed to wean off Medrol which I had been on since late 2011, after being diagnosed with adrenal fatigue in November 2011. Since then, I had been on either 6 or 4 mg of Medrol daily alternatively. After stopping Medrol, my periods came back, after being absent for almost 18 months

Taper Reducing Medrol by 2 mg at a time
with all the reading I've done, that seems too fast. And the rheumy said it's ok if I want to do it by 1 mg increments... However, the smallest tab the pharmacies have is 4 mg! And that's a small tab... So cutting it in fourths seems to be a rather risky estimation... I dropped from 10 mg to 8 mg 4

ferritin - iron?
I have been wondering something for years: My doctor (a so called "Hertoghe doctor") only tests ferritine levels, never iron levels. I was diagnosed with iron deficiency in 2011, and put on prescription drug Losferron. I cannot say it has done much for me. Last year, my ferritin levels were 83 ug/L (

How do I recognize a flare?
i hope people don't see my name and say "oh no, here comes that whiny woman from the States!" I've had a rough few days. Thurs went to a funeral and was really quite pleased with myself for getting back and resting, and felt pretty good ( altho my " rest" was a 2.5 hour nap...) . Friday I was out of

Hello
Hello everyone! So I went to my doctor on Friday because my pain is so bad and I'm not responding to the steroids anymore like I initially did with the Medrol dosepak. We know that I have some sort of Connective Tissue Disease, but not exactly sure now since my Anti-CCP levels, ANA were negative, RF

Isn't the steroid supposed to prevent a flare?
I started out on 40 mg. of prednisone for a week. Was on bedrest for 3 weeks. Saw minimal changes from many symptoms, then my doc spoke with rheumy and they dropped it to 20 mg. without any noticeable rapid change. Labs sky high. Gradually improved... Saw the rheumy on day 21 from onset, and was mostly

Im new here... Trying to find my way
i am 55. I was diagnosed with PMR after a very rapid onset of excruciating pain in my HANDS. They put me on prednisone and It improved, but not like I've read about others experiences... The inflammation moved all around, like, choosing a joint or joints de jour, if you will. When I finally got into

Solu-Medrol
I have been in the bed sick for days and just couldn't seem to get over it so I decided to take my emergency injection of solu-Medrol (125 mg ). I have carried the medicine around for years but never taken it. I could barely move my legs from the waist down. I was ready to try anything to get rid of

a question to those of you who have successfully recovered from adrenal fatigue
I have been fighting adrenal fatigue for years, probably since shortly after going hypothyroid. I was diagnosed in late 2000, but my problems started in late 1995, after recovering from mononucleosis. Five years later, antibody levels were out of range, and I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis

Pain in shoulder joints and on top
I've had PMR 2 1/2 years now and just tapered to 0mg Medrol, mostly out of fear of what steroids will do, as it's already caused osteoporosis. I still have pain but it's not as bad as when this all began. I do have pain in my shoulder joints and on top of shoulders pretty bad, as well as pain all over

Can taking medications skew the results of thyroid testing.
I have Sjogrens disease and am on low dose Prednisalone of 2.5 mg alternate days and also ten weekly injections of Depot Medrol 80mg. I have also had a recent course of three days Ciprofloxacin 500mg for a biliary infection. Is it possible those medications could alter the results of a thyroid blood

What medications might skew thyroid test results?
As I am on low dose prednisalone, 2.5 alternate days ,plus a ten weekly injection of Depot Medrol 80 mg I wondered whether it could alter thyroid test results and normalise them. I also have had three days of Ciprofloxacin 500mg per day this week for a biliary infection. I am due to have a thyroid test
