Parkinson's and RLS at the same time.
Does anyone have experience with the double wammy? I read that 50% of Parkinsons Disease (PD) patients also have Restless Legs Syndrome. Since the principal treatment for PD appears to be dopamine agonists such as pramipexole I wonder if most of these patients soon augment or if there is some

Gabapentine or Pregabalin?
I am wondering whether there is any difference between Gabapentine and Pregabalin in terms of effectiveness. I take 2400 mg Gabapentine per day in 3X800 mg doses, but while I sleep my ok wife cannot sleep because of my movement. I am wondering if there is any other possible treatment that might work

Sigh... 😔🥱😒 Hallucinations side effects from meds on top of neck & back pain affecting sleep schedule
This is very frustrating. Before starting any Parkinson meds this year, back pain (spinal stenosis but don't need surgery "do PT", insomnia and frequent urination (was told BPH) were my dad's only health issues. Healthy in every other aspect. Now, 2 months in, he has hallucinations as a side effect

Pregabalin versus Gabapentin
After coming off Pramipexole / dopamine after 20 years I am now in 250mg Pregabalin plus 4mg Targin. Does anyone have a medical answer as to what has less side effects out if Pregabalin and Gabapentin? Since starting Pregabalin, I have been less alert, my vision is less acute and I feel forgetful and

Chris Lacey speaks!
I was doing some emailing with Chris last week. I asked him what his thoughts were on what actually changed in his brain following a couple of years of intensive and detailed woodworking, 6 hours daily, 6 days a week. I wanted to know HOW the creation of new neural pathways had encouraged his brain ðŸ§

Switch from MMF to Mycophenolic Acid
Hello, readers, I am 2 years post-transplant, and after many months of suffering from abdominal pain post-eating, my nephrologist at the transplant center agreed to switch me from MMF to Mycophenolic Acid, 360 mg twice daily. Within a week, my GI symptoms had almost completely disappeared, and I

Dopamine Agonist withdrawal syndrome
On what would have been Robin Williams' 72nd birthday, a reminder of how dangerous dopamine agonists can be. If you mention DAWS to a UK doctor, they have no idea what we are talking about. They mistakenly say it only happens if the patient had Impulse Control Disorder. It can affect anyone taking these

Wondering if dad has RLS instead of PD (or both?). Any RLS indicators here?
Hi new to learning about RLS. My heart goes out to everyone dealing with this.
I'm reading a lot of comments about experiencing Augmentation from Mirapex/Dopamine Agonists or that if dopamine therapy doesn't work on you, you may not have PD. I've been wondering if my dad has RLS or something else

Dystonia: WTF?!
Never saw this one coming. Funny, when you type this word into the search, there are very few posts with this in the title. Strange as this is becoming the symptom I fear and loathe most. During my 8 years with PD, I’ve been conscious of Dystonia in isolated areas like feet but about a year ago my diaphragm

I need help now
I am a 68-year old woman who was diagnosed with ADD (the Inattentive Type) 23 years ago, in 2000, by a reputable psychiatrist. She quickly put me on Ritalin and I have been taking it continuously since that time. I have done some incredible things and accomplished things I never even imagined due to

mucuna pruriens for people without Parkinson’s?
what are peoples thoughts on taking mucuna if you don’t have Parkinson’s. Is it likely to adversely affect the brain? My son who is 20 has difficulty with concentration, mood, anxiety and motivation and often displays ADHD symptoms. For the last 2 years at school he mucked about and didn’t finish, worked

When we talk about revolution "against" the world of Parkinson's...

Hallucination side effect & Medication Management
hi! new here.... My dad is newly diagnosed and is having hallucinations from his Parkinson meds. He is bradykinesia dominant with lower back pain. Right now we're not sure what is causing the hallucinations but I think I have a good idea, just that the doc is not on board with the titration process.

RLS-UK New Film - Ropinirole/Pramipexole/Neupro Patch

which way to go (severe RLS)
Dear members, I am here trying to help my mother, whose RLS is poorly controlled these days. Just some background info: in 2021 she was put on Pramipexole, first just 0.125 mg was controlling her symptoms well, but it only lasted for half a year maybe. So her current dose is 0.375, which she splits
