Statins
I had 2 HA in 2021. I have been on the usual medication since. I ended up with severe EF and now have an ICD. Recent blood tests have shown I have a lowered blood platelet. I am booked in with my GP on 15//2 but am concerned what is causing this. I have read it could be Statins. Is there anyone out there

rogue beats
I had a catheter ablation on Wednesday. Up till now, I was not really getting many problems with my heart, but since early this morning, I’ve had quite a lot of episodes of missing heartbeats, some go on longer than others and it feels like my heart is going to stop. The beat is not the same as the

Investigations as to type and cause still happening.Whatever I am being advised I will have an ICD fitted. What are your real world experiences on how long it

3 Failed Ablations
Hi Everyone I was diagnosed with Paroxysmal Afib in September 2019, ( I wasn’t aware I had it as it the symptoms were vey mild) the Consultant recommended Bisoprolol but also put me on the waiting list for an Ablation, the Bisoprolol didn’t agree with me as I am a keen mountain biker and it was like

Nightmare with(out) flecainide. Cannot get help from NHS.
This is a follow-up to a post I made earlier this week, trying to figure out whether to take a previously unused flecainide prescription as a PIP. I was diagnosed with lone paroxysmal AF 10+ years ago (I was not quite 50) but it has not been a regular problem -- I didn't need regular meds. Due to the

Going off Eliquis
I had persistent AFIB for many years until I had an ablation procedure in 2022. It was successful and I have not had an AFIB episode in over a year. I check my sinus rhythm every day with my Kardia Mobile device and I am on 100Mg Flecainide per day. I am a 72-year-old man and very physically fit. Because

Painful arms and shoulders
I went into afib in the early hours of Friday morning and I knew pretty much I would be in it for 30 hours plus. What was different this time was the arrythmia wasn't so severe, the heart rate remained under 100bpm often down to the 60s & 70s and although my BP was all over the place I could carry on

Paxlovid with Eliquis
What is the latest advice on taking Paxlovid for Covid if you are on an anticoagulant? Do you need to stop it or just be extra careful of bleeding or not take Paxlovid at all? I know you need to stop your statin drug while on it.

bnp level high, breathlessness and fluid in lungs. What does this mean?
hello everyone. I have posted relatively frequently, most recently because my weight loss surgery was cancelled due to high heart rate(120-130) in persistent af and breathlessness. The gp gave me additional bisoprolol which brought hr down to about 90. Breathlessness has continued, possibly due to

Back In AFib
Hi, I have been a member of this forum for years but not been for a while. I had a second ablation years ago and have had no AF at all until last night when I went into AF. I was able to see a doctor this morning who confirmed AF via an ECG, referred me to cardiology and put me back on Sotalol

Multiple arrhythmias
I have now been told by EP that I have a number of different arrhythmias which probably explains why various rhythm control meds have caused other arrhythmias and not been effective . The ablation I had earlier this year helped and i am mostly in sinus rhythm. Only taking blood thinner and sotolol PIP

anterior wall afib ablation update from April 28th
I am super excited, I had a follow up with my EP Dr. Here in Arkansas, they did tests including my pacemaker interrogation… Whooo Hooo, it showed NSR 99+%, less than 1% out, but NOT afib! Never give up, I wish I had followed Cleveland Clinic DR advice 4 years ago, following up with a 3rd ablation after

Update to private cardiology consultation.
I am really pleased with today’s appointment. I gave him a list I had typed of all my questions and he went through them one by one. He was very happy with the Kardia ecg printouts and didn’t require an ecg there. We discussed many things Af and heart related. He also reviewed my cholesterol figures

Propafenone and taste
Anyone have any firsthand experience with Propafenone and taste? Everything tastes disgusting this morning and I hope its a side effect that fades.😬. Still not convinced it is going to even stop the Atrial Tachycardia as I am still having it, but now this.... Ugh.

Metoprolol, flecainide and prevention?
Age 59, lone paroxysmal AF for 12+ years which I have largely ignored because it wasn't that bad. It's been 4yrs since the last major episode but I suspect I am now in low-level AF a lot. I'm guessing at this because I don't have an AF app and due to the pandemic it's been nearly four years since my

AFib during Pilates
I have occasional AFib and a pacemaker. At the start of my weekly Pilates class (which I do for a sore back) I had a fast heart rate (112bpm) but went ahead with it (having informed the instructor). I took it easy but after 30 mins my fit bit said I had AFib so I just lay there until the end of the
