Convergent ablation
I’m scheduled for a convergent ablation. I’m out of rhythm approximately 78% of the time and my heart rate fluctuates throughout the day over 100. The procedure that will be used is not common , I don’t think. The electrophysiologist will ablate behind my heart on the outside by using a “needle

AFib or other arrhythmia??
Hi peeps, as some of you know, I was diagnosed with Afib last year. Prior to this, I had had another type of arrhythmia for many years and had been under a cardiology dept for nearly as long. My problem now is differentiating between Afib and the other arrhythmia. When I was first taken to hospital

Question
Had AF cured by cardioversion over 2 years ago but training regularly I know my resting HR is a solid 52bpm and on the ergometer which I use 3/4 times a week my HR is 115-120 on a 45 minute steady state Ut2 but this has jumped to 130: and as high as 150+ which should make me anaerobic although I don't

Nadolol side effects
I wonder if anyone else has experienced any side effects with the beta blocker Nadolol ? I had a total of 5 SCAs In June this year and now have an ICD fitted. My recovery was going slow but well on Propanolol 40mg TID until it was switched to Nadolol 80mg a week ago. Now I feel worse than when I left

Atrial Fibrillation or not?
My query is do I have Atrial Fibrillation or should it be named something else. I have a normal sinus rhythm but I am tachycardic and the heart rate spikes at times. I have frequent ectopic beats but have been advised they are of no concern. Just been prescribed 1.25mg of Bisoprolol.

Heat and afib
In March I passed out a couple times, the 2nd time, I was fortunate to be already hospitalized with rapid afib following my first syncope. I went into sustained vtach@ heart rate 275 and went into cardiac arrest. I now have a pace maker/defibrilator because my resting heart rate is 50. I take Sotalol

Uninsurable
Morning All After my 2019 heart attack put all my plans on hold, I've recently managed to move into my first property. However, I'm finding that trying to get accepted for even the most basic of life insurance is proving impossible. Does anyone know of any insurers that specialise in the following issues

Date for ICD
Hi I’ve had my date for implantation of ICD and reality has set in. I am really anxious about how it could affect my life having just returned from holiday swimming and body boarding and long coastal walks! Not bad for a 64 year old. I had been relatively fit until 5 years ago when I started with AF

Diltiazem purpose???
Hi everyone, hope someone out there can answer my question. I don’t have AFib but I notice a lot of AFib sufferers take Diltiazem. I’ve been prescribed it to use alongside bisoprolol to help me wean off it as I’m struggling. Not sure how it will help as I don’t have high blood pressure, and from what

PMR and heart disease?
Hello, Question about PMR and heart palpitations. I am wondering if any of you have experienced arythmias? I realize that they can be quite benign, but something just doesn't feel right. I read in a pubmed study ( I think) that people with PMR have a 2.5 x greater risk for a vascular event than matched

Ablation 3 months update, exercise, food and ectopics
Hi all I really benefitted form the testimonials on this webpage, so I wanted to update my case study.. Today it is exactly 3 month since my ablation, done for afib and flutter. Interestingly they found the flutter during the procedure, during a 'test run'. They have dealt with it at the same time.

Metoprolol
I have been on Digoxin, Flecainide and Sotalol without any good results but lots of side negative effects. New Cardiologist (an AP) has directed me to stop Flecainide and Sotalol and take Metoprolol instead... I'm not feeling much better, still on AF most of the time and a feeling of fainting. Any comment

Cardioversion
Had my cardio version yesterday and it took 4 hours from the time I booked in to going home. Most of time was spent pre and post procedure in the recovery room and the next room where they give you T or coffee + biscuits, then into discharge room. I was in that room over an hour as I was in q waiting
