New Here and Qs about 12/2021 surgery
Hello all. I'm scheduled for an occipital craniotomy in December, and I'm feeling very fearful about life after this surgery. In March of 2020, I was diagnosed with a 2.4 x 2.4 x 2.3 cm meningioma along the superior left tentorium, just to the left of midline, resulting in mass effect on the parasagittal

My mom needs craniotomy
My mom is 69 years old. In 2007 she was first diagnosed with a meningioma that was diagnosed incidentally because she underwent an MRI because she has optic neuritis. At the time she had the CyberKnife and up until 2013 the tumor had not grown. She had no symptoms. About 6 months ago, her personality

Bedtime head discomfort - pillow recommendations?
Hi all, I had a craniotomy in 2018 and still struggle a lot with sleep. I can only sleep on my left hand side now and it takes an age to get comfortable. Can anyone recommend a pillow that you have used and doesn't fail you. I've been looking at the Internet but I feel even more confused. Thanks in

Cranioplasty date has been set, any advice gratefully received
So my husbands cranioplasty date has come through for the beginning of August. He is 13 months post his aneurysm surgery which resulted in a massive stroke and craniotomy. He has been home 2 months and is pretty much bedbound. He struggles with sitting balance, in fact I think he would just topple

37 YEARS SINCE MY TBI.
I've always had a thing about dates. Especially 7th March. My TBI has now been part of my life for just over two thirds of my lifespan. I've had my TBI for twice as long as I haven't (if that makes any sense!). It's a strange time: lots of looking back and a bit of forward looking now that the post TBI

Bifrontal Cranioplasty
Hello, My mum had a Bifrontal
decompressive
craniectomy
due to a severe TBI. She spent a month in a coma, is now GCS of 15 in intensive rehab and can talk, eat foods (albeit confused) and will soon be learning to walk. She’s progressing fast and really well.

Has anyone else experienced a seizure a prolonged period after their brain injury
Delayed seizure I had a cerebral haemorrhage following by coil clipping & craniotomy around 18 months ago and had 1 seizure a few days ago I am currently still in hospital being monitored I am confused to why this has happened as I thought seizures usually happened in the days after the injury and not

Appointment instead of letter!!!!
I had a craniotomy 5 years ago to remove a large benign meningioma. Regular MRI which is followed by a letter with good news of no recurrence. This time after MRI two weeks ago I get a letter with an appointment via phone call for 6th Jan from neurosurgeon. I’m scared!

What to do now ?
Hello, I have been on a 2mg Neupro patch for the last 6 months. It has been working well except for the last 4 nights where I fear may now be the start of augmenting. I have had restless legs for a few years now, it became exacerbated last year after a craniotomy for a brain tumour. I have always taken

Stroke patient not coming off sedation
My husband had a stroke on the 23rd, he went into the hospital able to talk and move his right side and starting to regain the ability to move left side. He was admitted. Next day they did a TEE test where they say his throat became occluded and the had to incubate him. Afterwards still could follow

Dizziness After Surgery
Dizziness After Surgery I had a craniotomy suboccipital surgery performed on June 12th to remove an acoustic neuroma. When I got out of surgery, which lasted 10 hours I felt great. I was a little unsteady on my feet and of course, my head was sore and I had pains on the side of the neuroma. I was released
