I have been on levothyroxine 100mcg for last 3 years, I had my annual blood test in June tsh came back 2.2, after having some symptoms I got them done again as I was having a repeat ESR because that came back very high and the thyroid come back at 3.3 so it’s creeping up. long story short I was diagnosed w paroxysmal afib in 2021 and have had 3 unsuccessful ablations and 1 unsuccessful cardioversion. I am 38 year old female in the u.s and am otherwise healthy besides the frequent symptoms of afib. I have tried medications which did not help and have seen 2 cardiologist

Curious
Good morning allHaving had DCM for over six years now and still fit and well I was curious to ask if anyone on Dapagliflozin has issues with raised haemocrit? It's been a long time since posting on here and I've forgotten how useful it can be to all. Hope everyone has a nice day.

canagliflozin hope?
just read that this drug can help Lupus sufferers. Anyone know anything other than the basics? It is reported to help with arthritis pain, works on T cells so infections won’t necessarily cause our bodies to turn against us. Used for type 2 diabetes, it works in the kidneys, so not for everyone, and

Metformin Use and the Risk of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms in a Danish Population Based Cohort
I am very curious if any MPNérs are using Metaformin and what effects they are experiencing on their MPN... See: In this study we found an inverse association between MT use and risk of MPNs indicating a potential protective effect of MT on the development of MPNs. The protective effect was most pronounced

Miscarriage and missed periods
Hello, About 8/9 years ago I was told I had PCOS, just one ovary, it never massively effected me maybe only with weight gain, and some irregular periods, mostly just a longer cycle of around 35 days. I eventually went on the pill, which regulated my periods, and then coming off them I was still very

High blood sugar on T3+T4 Combo
Hi all. Following on from my previous post on how despite weight loss, regular weight training and muscle gain coupled with a lowish carb diet (c50g per day) my blood sugar has not reduced whilst my thyroid levels are pretty good and I feel much better: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/150101920

I have been using empagliflozin/Jardiance for high blood sugar 88, when tested for diabetes 2 been taken off metformin which I have been on since March 2020, worry that my high blood sugar level is too high, despite loosing two and a half stone, so cholesterol is minimum? more insulin again…
I’m having a bit of burn out at the moment… my levels aren’t where I want to be and I’m very frustrated. I asked my nurse about metformin today as my insulin isn’t having the desired effect. She has just increased my dosage of insulin yet again. I am sick of this. I take sooooo much insulin and I

Hi all,Can anyone tell me what the recommend alternative drug for type2 diabetes is, other than Metformin. I'm recently diagnosed T2 diabetic and doctor wants me to take Metformin. I understand it can block b12 absorption. Many thanks

SGLT-2 Inhibitors to (partially) “Starve” Glucose Dependent Cancers
There has been many theories proposed about how to “starve cancer”. And many have gone down rabbit holes chasing unproven theories about how to do so. Unfortunately, IMO, they simply do not work. Cancers are very metabolically flexible. They will take what they need to survive and grow and adapt to whatever

Diabetes and oesophagectomy
I had an oesophagectomy (keyhole) in December 2021. I've made a slow, steady recovery and feel very lucky to be as well as I am today. I eat well but of course in much smaller quantities.I'm a type 2 diabetic and prior to my op I had my diabetes well controlled using Metformin and diet. I was told, at

PCOS journey advice
I’m 28 and have been TTC for baby number 2 for 6 years. I was on Metformin for 4 years and the side effects were so brutal they advised me to stop. I’ve just had my second laparoscopy to remove a very large cyst which then gave me my first period after 2 years! My BMI is 34 which I am now trying so hard
