Do I have iron deficiency?
Hi all. Can anyone please have a look and see what they think of my results, if I am possibly deficient in iron? To me it looks like my iron serum & transferrin saturation are on the low side. However my ferritin is in the normal range, so my doctor has said I'm fine. BUT I don't feel fine. I have

Low Ferritin
Hello, I was diagnosed with iron-deficiency anemia and I am Vitamin B12 deficient. I received a blood test in June, and it showed that my ferritin level was a 4! My doctor immediately put me on prescription iron (I said absolutely not to an iron infusion), but I had to stop taking the iron because it

Iron Tablets vs Liquid
Last ten months, I’ve been taking 2 x 65mg Ferrous Fumarate tablets daily for iron deficiency. There is improvement in results albeit it’s been gradual. Currently travelling and come across a liquid preparation, called FPur by Althea, elementary iron, 0.1ml = 2mg. Can anybody advise whether then,

Iron supplementation and TSH levels
I don't know how it is in the UK, but dealing with drs and lab tests here in the US can be highly frustrating. My Endo doesn't check for Ferritin, Iron, etc with my TSH tests. So I did them myself. I also have an acupuncturist who has been helping me as a functional dr since most Western Drs here

GP wants to reduce my dose
Hi all I'm taking 125 mcg of levothyroxine and 20mcg of liothyronine. My levothyroxine had been increased by 25 mcg approx January this year as I had ongoing fatigue symptoms. GP had suggested levo increase. At the same time, he tested iron and that was found to be a little low. He prescribed me Syrton

NHS website states
The NHS website states " PA is the most common cause of b12 deficiency in the UK". So why do NHS doctors not read that? It goes on to say "Some people can experience problems related to a vitamin B12 deficiency, despite appearing to have normal levels of vitamin B12 in their blood. This can happen as

Low ferritin, normal hb , has anyone had infusions
Hi I currently have a ferritin level of 8 and feel terrible. I have a history of low ferritin and it hasn’t been higher than 25 for 4 years. I’m no longer able to take iron tablets because of side effects. My gp Has recommended iron infusions and from the research I’ve done could greatly improve my quality

B12 and iron deficiency link?
Just found this article. It suggests a link between B12 and iron deficiency. I thought it may be interesting. (I had B12 deficiency and iron deficiency at the same time, the iron deficiency corrected itself mysteriously after 2 weeks of B12 loading doses) Extracted quote to save you reading the whole

Blood results
Would be grateful it you could double check my results for me. Doctor who commented said everything is ‘normal’ except iron was a little high, but that could be because of the spinach I eat as I don’t take any iron supplements. I’m on 175mcg levothyroxine. Thank you

BMJ Oral Vitamin B12 can change our Practice
Is this article why some of us are being put on oral b12? what do we say to this? This is what is says This study confirms that oral 1000 μg cyanocobalamin provides effective maintenance therapy for vitamin B12 deficiency of all causes. General practitioners can be confident that this alternative treatment

I need help with hypothyroidism and anemia
I have recently found out that I have anemia, wanting to find out the affects on thyroid hormone. I am on t3 only. Does low iron prevent the thyroid medicine from working effectively.
