As a result, I have to have daily aspirin and since embryo transfer, I also have to have daily
Dalteparin

Pre surgery question - thanks
Has anyone been asked to inject themselves with
Dalteparin
the day before their surgery? Were you taught how to do it by a nurse? Thanks ❤

Pregnancy/delivery (in particular c sections) and blood thinners
I have APS and FVL so I'm on 2
dalteparin
5000 injections and a mini aspirin a day. I am looking to hear your experiences of childbirth on blood thinners, specifically women who have had c sections. Were epidurals or spinal taps a problem? Were you asked to stop in advance?

Post COVID jab DVT?
I’m now on Warfarin with my INR being checked/stabilised plus
Dalteparin
until this is achieved. So anyone else hear of this? I have reported it via the Yellow card process just in case.

Blood thinners - any tips?
I’m on
dalteparin
but it’s similar to clexane which is perhaps more common. This might sound like a silly thing to say but the needle is so sharp and it hurts going in (I’ve had quite a lot of experience injecting various things into my tummy so I can compare).

Hair loss
I’m being treated for it on a heparin drug called
Dalteparin
and now on month 5 the hair loss is bad. I read that around month 5 hair loss can show on this drug. The dermatologist I spoke to today said I’m going through 3 different types of loss.

Hughes syndrome antiphospholipid syndrome
My practice in this situation: a short 3-week therapeutic trial, for example,
dalteparin
(Fragmin) 5,000 – 10,000 units s/c daily (or Clexane). I have found this to be one of the most useful therapeutic trials in my practice. The effect is often clear-cut– ‘no change’ or ‘very successful’.

Another update, not so positive, but thoughts appreciated
Today I finally crumbled and called my Hematologist and he has pulled me off the Warfarin, and put me back on
Dalteparin
Injections. I am distraught, I was doing fine on
Dalteparin

Transitioning from Dalteparin to Rivaroxaban
My Hematology team have decided to take me off
Dalteparin
15,000 IU/0.6 ml to Rivaroxaban 15 mg, this is because a recent DEXA scan has shown I have severe Osteoporosis in spine and hip, and they say
Dalteparin
can worsen Osteoporosis.

Injections
At my 28 week appointment my midwife put me on
dalteparin
injections as I scored a specific number on a dvt risk assessment scale. I am finding the injections very painful particularly after the injection, it stings like mad and is really uncomfortable and sore for some time after.

I'm scheduled to have total knee replacement in both knees at Guys
So I guess on Monday I need to phone both Guys and St Thomas' and either get them to prescribe the
Dalteparin
or give detailed instructions to my Gp. Although as they wish to proceed with the Op in the next 6-8 weeks and the way the CCG ?

What we did discover was that this particular cancer centre give preventative medication (
dalteparin
) to stop blood clots for the whole of treatment so we'll be proficient in injection technique come the end of this. 😂💉 Husband is in very good spirits and just wants to get the show on the road to get

Just stopped warfarin treatment and have begun

due to a new DVT while on warfarin. The past year has been horrible as I have had five venous ulcers in one leg due to CVI.

Anticoagulant Clinic has switched me to Dalteparin from Warfarin after INR reading swing to 9.5
Hi all, just a quicky, after a coupleof months of Warfarin I've been switched back to
Dalteparin
as the Warfarin didn't agree with me, they recorded my INR as high as 9.5.
