Tests after Biotin stopped
SlowDragon suggested I put up a post of my own, so here goes. I have been bugging my PCP for nearly two years about my lingering symptoms of hypothyroidism, despite being on 175 mcg / day of Synthroid. Specifically, going bald, fragile nails, cold intolerance, dry gritty eyes, difficulty losing weight

Just had T3 level tested by NHS
Just to update members since my last post two months ago, I went for my blood test this week and have had T3 level tested on the NHS. I know others have had the request denied, so just wanted to say I noticed my Gp had put on the form "T3 as previously advised by endocrinologist" so perhaps this made

An important warning: when a flare might not be a flare.
After 18 months on Prednisolone, reduced from initial 60mg daily ( the almost lethal dose in my case), I was down to 2 mg daily and my inflammatory factors (ESR and C-reactive protein) were very low. Then suddenly in September this year, a routine blood test shocked my medics ( and me)- both ESR and

How often should I self-inject?
I've been self injecting hydroxocobalamin since April 2018. I was diagnosed with B12 deficiency in October 2017, had my six/seven loading doses and then given injections in three monthly cycles. I found that within a week to ten days all of my symptoms were returning so I went down the route of self

Your Medication And Supplements
Earlier this week there was a post where the issue related to the addition of turmeric as a supplement when taking anticoagulants. Interestingly around the weekend I got send a link from my old university (was one of the top polytechnics at the time) about a recent piece of research about taking supplements

What affects blood test results?
I remember reading on here that certain supplements affect thyroid blood test results but I can't seem to find that information anymore. I currently take tumeric, fish oil, vit D, vit C, CBD oil and iron. Do any of these affect blood test results if taken a day before the test? I know it's important

We think it may have stopped...!!

Iron/Ferritin levels
Hi, I was diagnosed with PA earlier on this year. I received my loading doses in May and I'm having a top up injection of B12 every 3 months. Unfortunately, my iron levels are now low. My ferritin level is 5, my iron level is 9 and my saturation level is 11%. My haemoglobin level is normal so my GP
