Emotional day yesterday
Iv just posted about my operation news which I have no choice in having, otherwise well it isn't worth considering, but also yesterday my older sister had her BRCA gene test result and she is BRCA 1 positive. I couldn't stop crying about it. I feel bad enough suffering with this disease and now potentially

skin brushing/massage
8 weeks ago I had a mastectomy and 3 lymph nodes removed. As I am very swollen especially on underarm and upper arm I have become concerned about the possibility of lymphodema developing. My breast cancer nurse just says this is normal healing , but my concern is that if there is the beginning of lymphodema

The story so far
I'm well aware that this treatment may or may not work, but I've got a 10 year old son and an 8 year old daughter, so I've already decided that if needs must, I'm going for the radical
cystectomy
with the stoma rather than the pine box and the burny fires, If anyone's interested I'll post regularly

A Personal Introduction
As a result I underwent a radical prostatectomy and
cystectomy
(bladder removal) along with lymph nodes and my appendix. The surgery took over 11 hours to perform and required the creation of a stoma (urostomy) using part of my small bowel for urination purposes.

Pain and physiotherapy
I had my mastectomy in November and was given physio exercises to do 3 times a day. At first, I had pain in my left arm when stretching, but I did the exercises for weeks and weeks until I had no pain at all and had full use of the arm again. Recently I have had pain again when stretching, even something

Yet more chemo 😜
Hi ladies, well I finished my A&C chemo on Wednesday, having already had T&C chemo followed by a bilateral mastectomy, I was supposed to have had a five week break before radiotherapy started, now it's a three week break before four sessions of CMF chemo to run alongside my radiotherapy. I know it's

Hi, I have just read a piece on Post Mastectomy Pain Syndrome and it accurately describes the pain I have been getting. I'm now 6 months post op. I just wondered if anyone else had heard or suffered from it. I'm due to see my consultant in two weeks due to complications with pain and possible infection

Reconstruction
Hi to all. I'm seeing my breast surgeon on Monday to talk about reconstruction and possible mastectomy on the other side. I had my first mastectomy and nodal clearance in June 2014 and had a skin saving implant put in at the same time so I have skin there already. I've decided that I would also like

Metastatic Bladder Cancer
My husband had total bladder removal in 2013 for T2bNO bladder cancer. Now he has mets to lungs, liver and sacral area of spine. Chemo did no good and he recently completed radiation to the bladder and spine. Oncologist recommending clinical trial......What are we looking at as far as continued treatment

Hello
My name is Jane. I have grade 3 stage 4 breast cancer which has spread into my bones. I found out in Sept 2014 so feel ok ish in my shoes now. I was initially told I only had around 18 months. However the hormone treatment I was started on was only affecting one of my breast tumours so I had a mastectomy

My chemo.
After my bladder removal i have started chemo treatments for a few 'warm' spots up near the lung. The drugs used are Gemcitabine and Cisplatin. The Gemcitabine is a nasty drug that burns the vein lining and ruins them for months,my doc has diluted the amount to try and relieve this problem, the nurses

I have completed 5 years on Tamoxifen and another five to do. I have recovered in many ways from the surgery and trauma but I still

Chemo?
I had a mastectomy last week and have another nerve wracking week to wait for results and treatment plan. I have felt healthy throughout and am very worried about the debilitating side effects if I need chemo or radiotherapy. What are the consequences of choosing not to have these therapies?
