Impact of chemo on orthopedic healing process?
Hi, Was diagnosed CLL in 2010 and have been on WW since. However my ALC has increased from mid 20's to mid 40's in the last 6-9 months which has prompted my hematologist to start making noises re treatment. Feel reasonably well in myself and free from ongoing infections, but have significant lymph node

Food Intolerance
My husband seems to have developed an intolerance to fish and crustaceans in the couple of years following his FCR chemotherapy. I was wondering if anyone else has had this sort of problem.

Treatment choices and work or not to work
Hello again. When I returned to the hospital again on Monday the doctors are now urging me to begin treatment fairly soon. My WBC doubled from 68 in April 2016 to 118 in October and then 206 a few weeks ago. I don't remember my other blood numbers but no other concerns were mentioned. She said if we

FCR and Bladder irritation
I have read that
Cyclophosphamide
can cause bladder irritation, but unsure in what form. I guess that I was so glad to finish my chemotherapy and am disappointed that things aren't as plain sailing as I would like. I guess it is still early days to expect normality.

6 months post FCR and let me introduce Brewster to you all!
It's hard to believe that 6 months have past by since Chemo... some days I feel nearly normal🤓 And don't give too much thought to CLL but other days it can be the burden that you carry around – On those days it feels as if i am on an isolated island, all by myself , trying to predict how long remission

2nd session
I started my 2nd session FCR on Wednesday. No reaction this time with Rituximab! Only side effects so far are fatigue and nausea which unpleasant but manageable. Onwards and upwards. Best wishes to everyone out there x

2nd recurrence
I finished 2nd line (carbo,
cyclophosphamide
+ avastin) on January 12th. In actual fact, for the last 4 sessions I only had carbo due to very low platelets, haemoglobin and neutrophils. I began to feel bloated late January and CA125 went from 29 to 85 to 210 in 3 weeks.

Sleepless night
I didn't sleep very well last night, silly thoughts kept going around in my head and I can't get this question out of my head which I think is probably just ignorance on my part, but I'm going to ask anyway because someone on here will be able to help me! I understand with FCR that rituximab is the

Delayed 2nd FCR 🙄
Well I was mentally prepared for my 2nd FCR on May 8th but not physically it seems. I had my blood tests today and my WBC was down from 149 to 1.9, fantastic! But my neutrophils are also 1 so I can't have it. I'd be really grateful for some neutrophils info as I'm fairly ignorant in this area. Should

Treatment starts tomorrow.
Well, here we are - OH was diagnosed in August 2014, so W&W didn't last as long as we had hoped it would. Most figures have remained fairly stable, but platelet levels consistently around 80 for last 9 months, so FCR starting tomorrow. As he is pretty fit, we are hoping that 4 lots of treatment will

FCR...the "gold standard" for CLL
Well, after all kinds of advice and doing some serious research, I decided to go to OSU James Cancer Center for treatment. Dr. Byrd will give me FCR outpatient. I start Wed. May 3. I cant sleep or do much of anything. I am anxious but relieved to finally start treatment. I am trisomy 12 simple karotype

Update on ... ongoing pain following injection. 71 year old male with Wegener's
On the medication side it is possible I will be continuing with Rituximab AND
Cyclophosphamide
. This to be discussed in depth with Rheumatology. Although inflammation is present in the lungs it is recommended that there should be no increase in steroid dose so as not to compromise procedure.

High WBC and it does matter to my doctor
I think perhaps I should print out Maggie_b's post from yesterday, "High WBC but it doesn't matter" to give to my hemo/oncologist (along with other similar posts, articles, & webinar material about high WBC). Then again given my experience for the past 5+ years with him when it comes to other's opinions
