Cranioplasty date has been set, any advice gratefully received
He is 13 months post his aneurysm surgery which resulted in a massive stroke and
craniotomy
. He has been home 2 months and is pretty much bedbound. He struggles with sitting balance, in fact I think he would just topple over if there wasn’t a person on either side of him, supporting him.

Prolonged Disorder of Consciousness
My partner has this diagnosis and is almost 8 months post aneurysm surgery that caused a stroke then swelling needing further surgery 10 days later and a
craniotomy
. He has been in this state since July 12th with only tiny improvements. I need hope in a situation that feels so desperately hopeless.

37 YEARS SINCE MY TBI.
It's not as if my TBI was innocuous, 2 days in A&E after a fall with suspected concussion before I deteriorated then underwent a
craniotomy
for an Extradural Haematoma.

Appointment instead of letter!!!!
I had a
craniotomy
5 years ago to remove a large benign meningioma. Regular MRI which is followed by a letter with good news of no recurrence. This time after MRI two weeks ago I get a letter with an appointment via phone call for 6th Jan from neurosurgeon. I’m scared!

What to do now ?
I have had restless legs for a few years now, it became exacerbated last year after a
craniotomy
for a brain tumour. I have always taken Palexia which worked well for a couple of years & then only lasted for a couple of hours.

Stroke patient not coming off sedation
On the 30th his neuro checks changed and they tell me he needs to have emergency
craniotomy
due to swelling on brain. After surgery he is able to follow a few commands but doctor says he doesn’t want him moving and orders him to be on a paralytic along with the sedation med and fentanyl.

Bifrontal Cranioplasty
Hello, My mum had a Bifrontal decompressive craniectomy due to a severe TBI. She spent a month in a coma, is now GCS of 15 in intensive rehab and can talk, eat foods (albeit confused) and will soon be learning to walk. She’s progressing fast and really well. She had severe damage to the frontal lobes

Dizziness After Surgery
Dizziness After Surgery I had a
craniotomy
suboccipital surgery performed on June 12th to remove an acoustic neuroma. When I got out of surgery, which lasted 10 hours I felt great. I was a little unsteady on my feet and of course, my head was sore and I had pains on the side of the neuroma.

Last year I got a brain tumour & I had a
craniotomy
followed by 30 sessions of radiation. My RLS got considerably worse & Palexia did not help much. I was lucky to sleep 1-2 hours a night. It was very depressing as I could not enjoy a normal life.

Brain Haemorrhage recovery
He was given a
craniotomy
to remove the bleed. He was in icu for 3 weeks and in an induced coma for 2 of those. He was given a less than 50% chance of survival. The doctors believe that it was caused by severely high blood pressure that we wasn’t aware he had.

If you keep saying Yes to others, then you are often saying No to yourself.
He had an emergency
craniotomy
, and tragically he has a grade 4 Glioblastoma. The frontal lobe is involved in motor function, problem solving, spontaneity, memory, language, initiation, judgment, and impulse control.

Help! Sorry if this is long!!
My aneurysm had grown despite the coil treatment I had and I was wheeled in for a
craniotomy
. This was absolutely horrible. The after effects was completely life changing and I was basically thrown out a few days later and told to get on with it. I had to learn to dress myself even .

My husband is a TBI survivor!
He had a
craniotomy
and the clot removed, then after recovering well for a few days went downhill and subsequently had a craniectomy to give his brain space to swell.
