Hi th123, welcome to Quit Support and congratulations on making it so far :-)

Feeling tired is quite a common symptom of recovery but don't worry too much as it will pass. This is mainly due to your body's metabolism adjusting to it's normal levels because of recieving less or no more nicotine. It is only temporary and will soon stop as your own body's energy levels return to normal.

It's also usually often a sign of stress, tiredness or boredom; all of which can be affected due to the fact that you have stopped smoking.

Try drinking plenty of water and maybe eat more fruit to raise your sugar levels. It is probably best to avoid sugary and processed foods.

If you are feeling tired, take a break from whatever it is that you are doing - maybe go for a brisk walk if possible - if not try an energising breathing exercise.

You've come so far and are doing really well, I'll pop up your 4 week Winner's Badge now that you can enjoy for a couple of days before getting your 12 week Winner's Badge ;-)

Keep smiling and have a nice big stretch :-)

Hi TH123 - I stopped once before on Champix and had same thing happen to me, in fact i think they made me slightly depressed, just had no interest in anything...... nothing seemed to make me happy, or excited, or at peace, I felt very numb. 11 weeks is amazing you stick at it, how long is your course of champix? I came off them in the hope it would pick me up, so only did 3 weeks, but I didnt actually smoke again for 10 months lol! stupid i know. Just wonder if once you have completed your course if you might feel a bit more energized. Emjays advice is spot on and hopefully that will help x

Hi th123, I quit with Champix a month ago, my sister in NZ 10 weeks ago and we're both feeling tired and lethargic and were concerned about this. I agree that feeling tired is often a by-product of stopping smoking and literature on Champix notes tiredness as a side effect. 11 weeks is amazing, try going for a walk, eating fruit (particularly pears) it really does help but ultimately you've STOPPED smoking, kick back and enjoy your va va voom will come back

I also felt tired and sick on champix and stopped taking them after 5 wks. Nearly 4 months now since I stopped and feeling much better since I stopped them. First couple of days off them were hard and then I got a bit down but stick with it for a week or so and you will feel a lot lot better!!!!
