Coming Off The Pill
So a little background..... I have 3 children already but I've decided I would like a 4th. I accidentally missed a few of my pills in October which caused me to have the smallest of bleeds. Like not even worth wearing a pad for just one day. I did however have sex during my missed pill days. So about

Visanne - where do I buy it?
Hi all, I was recently diagnosed via lap in Oct (Stage 2). I can't handle Progesterone-only or the combined pill because I have had migraines with both, so bizarrely; my consultant has prescribed Visanne (another progesterone?!) as a last option as I won't get the coil. She told me that the NHS won't

Melatonin can induce arrhythmia!
ARTICLE
: "Sleep Medications Containing Melatonin can Potentially Induce Ventricular Arrhythmias in Structurally Normal Hearts: A 2-Patient Report" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/articles/PMC5642341/ Yikes! As I had reported earlier, I seemed to have miraculously ended my afib inadvertently

Cerelle contraceptive pill
I have been on the cerelle contraceptive pill for over a year and have had irregular periods throughout. But I now haven’t had one for three months and I’m wondering if this is normal?

Lost and with little hope
I have been bleeding for 14 days. I was diagnosed with endometriosis after having a laparoscopy for a cyst on the 19th of September. They found widespread endometriosis and the 30 mins intended for the surgery lasted 3 and a half hours. Since then I have been put on the pill. It worked until 14 days

Thinking Back
Well before my PAF attacks were recognised, I used to feel quite ill after spraying roses (tired and lethargic). Also if the council came around the streets spraying weeds on pavements that would affect me too. I have to admit I don't spray roses anymore. Also cleaning the bath with a spray cleaner

Many individuals approach us with requests to what many of the medical abbreviations mean? Please find below some of the many abbreviations\acronyms commonly used. We hope that this helps but if there are any others we've missed, please feel free to comment below or contact me direct info@heartrhythmalliance.org

Teenager labour like period pains
My 13 year old daughter suffers from pain towards the end of her periods. Unbearable and I can only describe it as like watching someone in labour. The pain is beyond what she can manage and leaves her physically and mentally done in. GP has been trying her on various contraceptive pills. Since starting

Body position helping ectopic beats
OK, it is 4 am… My PAF (which was weekly or twice a week) seems to have morphed into lots of ectopics in the last 4 weeks. The upside is less AF (just went almost 3 weeks in NSR, not complaining 🥴) but we all know the PACs and/or PVCs can almost feel worse. Does anyone else notice that sitting up

Am I pregnant?
So I’ve taken 3 different tests and got a faint second line on all 3 and they get darker each time I was supposed to have my period a few weeks ago but only had a little spotting due to getting over birth control and really wondering if I’m truly pregnant or not? My husband and I are hoping so but I

Life with Ectopics - 20 years old
Hi, my name is Abbie McDonald, and I am currently 20 years old. I have had heart issues, specifically ectopics, for over 6 years now. My story is quite long but I will do my best to summarise it all. It all started after my HPV vaccine at school in Year 10. Following the jab, I came down with cold

NMDA Encephalitis and Contraception/Hormones
I was advised by my doctor to stop taking hormonal
contraception
(pill) when I first became sick as he said the hormones may cause a relapse. However, due to other health concerns such as PCOS, I am being offered the Mirena coil with minimal hormones.

PMDD
I’m just becoming aware that I have PMDD. It’s scary as hell. I feel alone, crazy, and embarrassed. I don’t remember having these episodes before I stopped using birth control last year but every month it seems to get worse. I feel increasingly suspicious of my husband every month the week or two before

Increased heart rate.
Hi everyone, my gp has organised an appointment Fri. For chest pain clinic as I had chest tightness and my Kardia 6l showed Unclassified. During the 1min reading pulse went to 140 then 120 and then 65. I showed gp following day and she wanted me to go straight to ed but then she looked at the ecg. Hospital

Ventricular ectopics
So my current loop recorder has shown I get ventricular ectopics. My cardiologist doesn't seem overly concerned at the moment but when I have these I experience a sharp stabbing pain in the left side of the chest. Has anyone else had similar experiences with PVCs, should I be worried?

Can I continuously take the combined pill?
Hello, I have been on the combined pill (microgynon) for almost 3 years now and i have been seeing a lot of posts on social media that its okay to continuously take the pill every day which can stop the “period” rather than have a 7 day break? Is this safe? Will it protect me from pregnancy?
