hemochromatosis?
Can pelvic radiation therapy cause hemochromatosis? I went through 44 days of EBRT and six months later diagnosed with hemochromatosis which I've never had in my 73 years.

When the drugs don’t work
Where to begin… my poor Mum had her first hip replacement in 2007, but it broke and she had a revision in 2008. Unfortunately she was in more pain than ever, and they were about to write the pain off as psychological but thankfully she got referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist hospital who discovered

Rash from RT?
My husband is on Radiation treatment 31 of 45. Diagnosed with Gleason 7 (4+3), PSA 4.9 with all indications that it is contained in the prostate, negative bone scan, etc;. My question is, he is getting an itchy rash and some puffiness in his pubic area just above his privates. Has anyone experienced

TURP and Prostatectomy
I am looking at a prostatectomy, but I had a TURP 8 yrs ago. How does this change the risk factors and my potential quality of life for a prostatectomy? If I did radiation therapy, they would like me to have another TURP to remove some of the prostate that is growing into the bladder before starting

Post Radiotherapy Fatigue
Hello. I had a total hysterectomy with BSO late December followed by 25 days of external beam radiotherapy in March / April. I’m really struggling with fatigue/ low energy levels. Is this normal? I had hoped for sone improvement four and a half months post treatment. I’ve had repeat blood tests to rule

Why no maintenance medication?
I was diagnosed with stage 3C1, grade 3 endometrial cancer October 2022 and had surgery, chemo and 25 sessions external radiotherapy. I haven't been put on maintenance medication to prevent recurrence. Is this usual? Are others in this position? I live in the Uk.

Pet scan vs CT scan
Hi fellow warriors, I've just had a phone appointment with my Oncologist my PSA is 0.7 and started to go up but not high enough to warrant having a Scan at the moment. My problem is she doesn't think she will be able to put me forward for a Pet scan as I have already had a couple in the past and with

Brain fog, weakness meds or tumour?
New to this thank you. I am looking for information. I have a newly diagnosed grade 4 gliobastoma which has been recently debulked. I am currently awaiting radiotherapy. I take steroids in the morning and Keppra at night and experience a constant brain fog and weakness to limbs which I am unsure as to

ADT duration
I have locally contained G9 discovered July as PSA in June 2022 rose to 6.9 , 6 months after HIFU In December 2021. Immediately started Bicalutimide 150 3rd August 2022 and planned radiotherapy for end of November 2022 after clear PSMA. For various reasons I was on bicalutimide for longer than

Feeling utterly helpless
Hi, my mum (early 60s) has been diagnosed with glioblastoma on her right side of her brain spreading to her corpus callosum. Surgery was considered too risky so we choose radiotherapy and chemo. However, the oncologist is now saying he thinks radiotherapy will do more harm than good. Her mobility

Worried
I was due to have a polyp removed on the day of surgery (4 Jan) I attended for day surgery but the anaesthetist wasn't happy that I had only been diagnosed with angina by my GP. My GP had referred me to cardiology around the middle of 2022, but due to long waiting lists I had not seen a cardiologist

Groin pain
I had intense radiation therapy 6 months ago and all seems to be going well; however, a dull pain (sometimes pretty intense) has developed in my right groin. I can’t think of any way that I might have injured this area, and I’m wondering if there is any correlation with my treatment.

IBRT/SBRT Radiation and ADT
I have heard so many horrifying things here about adverse reactions to those who were prescribed ADT in conjunction with or shortly after radiation treatment. Has anyone forgone taking ADT therapy or does that ruin any progress made from radiation? I have read there is no evidence ADT actually improves

Suggestions for pain and exhaustion 2 weeks after radiation to C3?
Hi, I had 5 radiotherapy sessions with cyberknife on the C3 about 2 weeks ago. I noticed after the 1st session that the pain on the right side of my neck got more and more intense, from my neck down through my right shoulder. On day 4 I didn’t think I could make the last session, but I was pressured

Hi At age 32 I had a triple negative tumour removed (lumpectomy) followed by chemo and radiotherapy. Fast forward 31 years I have just had a mastectomy after I had an oestrogen positive tumour. No chemo needed-phew! The op was 3 weeks ago & I still have a large haematoma that has already been drained
