Can pelvic radiation therapy cause hemochromatosis? I went through 44 days of EBRT and six months later diagnosed with hemochromatosis which I've never had in my 73 years.

Googling indicate it's usually hereditary. A gene mutation passed from parent to child. No mention of radiation treatments as a cause.
Sorry to hear that you now have this. They say that it is hereditary but treatment for cancer affects our DNA and I believe that it changes it, so I believe that anything is possible. I myself developed blood clots after chemo and radiation ended. I had a DVT & PE. When I asked my oncologist about it they stated that it was "unprovoked " and not caused by my treatment. Of course I don't believe that. Best to you
