Concerta side effect?
My son just went from Concerta 18mg to 27mg today and he said he felt fine all day. It wasn't until about 5pm that he started complaining of stomach aches. He takes his pill at 6am every day. I'm wondering if the wearing off is causing stomach issues?

Headaches from Concerta - 2 weeks in
Our 13 year old daughter was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD in January. She is extremely bright, but struggles to keep up with her schoolwork (slow processing speed), so we are trying medication. Our pediatrician gave her an Rx for 18 mg of Concerta. Two weeks in, we observe that the Concerta is

Preliminary report on B1 HDT trial -
Hi all, A full detailed report will be posted if and when I achieve a month of improvement. I've finally stabilized with sinemet cr 5x 200 and 10mg requip xl after 2 yr of drug adjustments and changes. I'm 10 yr post dx and would describe my symptoms as severe and poorly controlled. I'm rigidity

One Month on Concerta - High Emotions
Hi all, Our son (7 years old) has been on Concerta for one month. We’ve increased the dose twice and he’s currently on 36 mg. He is incredibly emotional while the med kicks in and wears off. The Psych seems to think this is because we haven’t optimized his dose, so we keep increasing. But with each increase

Is Behavioral therapy enough?
My son is currently on a 504 plan and I'm working with the school to get an IEP placed instead. He is currently working with a behavioral therapist. I get the question all the time "is he taking any medication?" Short answer, no. I was given Concerta to try out but haven't started yet. I'm waiting for

Annual meeting
I have my sons annual meeting coming up next week and I am concerned. This was his first year in special education and I feel like he had a harder time in there then he did in the general classroom. Day 6 on Concerta 18mg. Requesting experienced feedback.
Hello all! My 6 year old son is on day 6 of Concerta 18mg. He is still being disruptive at school, so not sure if it’s fully working for him. He seems to have better emotional regulation during the day, but I notice the crash period around 3 when he becomes very emotional about trivial things. One thing

8-year-old hoarding food
Looking for creative solutions. My 8-year-old son had ADHD and he takes Concerta, which really affects his appetite. He's lost weight since he's been on it, and he didn't have much to lose to begin with. He usually eats breakfast and dinner, but when his meds wear off, he's starving. He's developed

To medicate or not?
I'm really excited to find this community. I am 31 years old and have been recently (3 months ago) diagnosed with ADHD, Inattentive Type. I am struggling with whether or not to take medicine because while it certainly has been helpful to be on Concerta, I am fearful of the long-term consequences, if

Does adderall work ?
One difference between the drugs is how fast they work and how long they last. Adderall may work slightly faster, but Concerta lasts longer: Adderall typically works within 30 minutes and lasts for 5 to 7 hours. Adderall XR usually works within 30 minutes and lasts about 8 to 10 hours http://verifieddrugstore.com

Still having school problems
So my son has been on concerta for over a month and his teachers still complain. Especially his reading/writing iep teacher. She always telling him your not focused and screaming. He can’t stand her. He has her at the end of the day. She is always saying he is disrespectful to her and doesn’t listen.

Any advice
My son has been on concerta since before the winter break. I don’t really see any improvement or difference other then he cries too much. His teacher says that he is doing fine in his math and science class. It’s only when he goes to reading and writing that his eip teacher says that he is not complying

I can’t take it anymore :(
My son 14, Adhd , currently takes Vyvanse 20mg/ Guanfacine 2mg combo . We started in the mid December. It looked like finally we found the right medication, but we didn’t. He became upset, angry, mean and disrespectful. We got to the point that I couldn’t catch 2 min of normal conversation with him.

ADHD other psychiatric conditions - Which is it?
I just feel like let's get this out there! I've been doing a ton of research on this because what is there else to do at 10 pm after your child has been diagnosed and you're panicking about everything? My daughter's original diagnosis was bipolar. After a ton of testing she was ALSO diagnosed ADHD

agonizing over every word
Hello all, It’s 4:30 in the morning and my jet lag is in full nocturnal bloom. I’ve been courting the idea of posting for a while, but couldn’t quite break away from the comfortable position of anonymous lurker. But I figure I might as well squeeze something productive out of this jet lag. Personally

New to ADD meds but need to switch
I was diagnosed in April with ADD. I have always struggled with school but had been able to compensate until reaching the doctoral level. After almost quitting my program I decided to get evaluated. I started taking the generic Concerta in April and It has really made a difference and enabled me to make
