First colonoscopy prep
Hi, I have my first colonoscopy Tuesday to check out what I’m hoping are just hemorrhoids. For prep I have to take 4 Dulcolax or Senna tablets in addition to 17 capfuls of Miralax. I’ve read horrible reviews about severe pain, nausea and shaking on Dulcolax. Senna sounds painful too but not as bad.

COVID!
Was due to have colonoscopy 15 Jan, had phone call this morning for pre op assessment. First phone call 08.30am, just had hospital on the phone cancelling it due to too many COVID cases in the hospital. Whilst I could go private not sure if I could afford any treatment that may be needed if anything

Bleeding with IBS
This is something that has happened to me before but I wanted to get some opinions on preventative measures I can take while it's still early days. I've started bleeding again from the back passage. It's fresh blood, enough of it that it isn't coming from a tear (which I have checked for). Last time

So many symptoms, don't feel good and I am scared..
I have over the last couple of weeks been feeling so lousy, have gone from nausea , awful gerd ( i have a history of this) to upper abdominal discomfort and some diarrhea. Eating is not fun right now. My dr finally sent me for a CT scan and it came back ok except for some mild thickening of bowel wall

Stool Question with other concerns.......
I have some silly questions but Is giving me anxiety, I go to the bathroom normally but the shape is different, my Doc said is normal Depending on what I eat, I can go from 1- 4 daily but always a minimum of 1 per day. I do take Beets/Juice mix with other veggies, so I understand that can be a factor

Are there any connections?
Hi there, I was referred to a gastroenterologist and a gynaecologist a few weeks ago due to a blood test result of 3.5 hemoglobin level, I am a bit annoyed with my GP as I’ve been getting results of low iron deficiency for years and told just to eat more leafy greens. The gastroenterologist gestured

Hi all! I have been diagnosed with IBS since about 15 and I am now 33. The past 18 months I have terrible pain in my left side about half way up my ribs. It feels like stitch and sometimes it really catches my breath. I have it everyday and particularly at night when in bed. I have recently been hospital

2 week referral
Following my abnormal FIT I received a two week referral to the colorectal people. I had a consultant ring me yesterday who went through my medical history. It was left as nothing to panic about, my previous scopes would be looked at and a letter sent to my GP with a copy to me. My poor wife couldn’t

Antibiotics treatment for h pylori
I had constipation and gut pains. Went for a colonoscopy. The gastroenterologist took a biopsy and found out that i have h pylori. I was reluctant to take the antibiotics but he assured me that the treatment is safe even for stage 3 kidney patients. prescription comprises of amoxil 1g, klacid 500mg

Blood in stool every 3-4 weeks
Hi everyone, merry Christmas. Probably not the post you want to see on Christmas Day but hey ho. Since august I’ve had blood on the outer part of my stool, mainly on the clumpy bits that are joined together first and then followed by the more solid looking stool bit which won’t have any. It’s been almost
