Just thought I'd post an update on my colonoscopy today. I had double pain relief didn't work haha they only decsending colon managed to get so far up so classed as UNCOMPLETE because of uncontrollable loopingand unable to pass tight fixture despite positional changes. Colon appeared normal, small hemorrhoid which they say is more than likely from moviprep no concern at all took two biopsies, now waiting for a CTC and CT CAP. So so far so good. X

Hi Macjayne ,Thank you so much for posting an update, we were wondering how it went and thinking of you.
I'm so sorry to hear about the pain you experienced. OUCH! I'm thankful for the technology of the CT Colonography and CT CAP so that the doctors can get clear images of your colon, even though they were unable to complete the colonoscopy.
I'm a little confused by the statement about the small hemorrhoid and them saying it was caused by moviprep? Are they saying that it was caused during your bowel preparation and repeated wiping the day/night before the procedure?
Glad they were able to take biopsies and that tissues appeared normal.
Do you have appointments set for the CT Colonography and CT CAP yet?
Hope you are able to rest and recover. Sounds like you were a good sport in a VERY painful situation!
Thankyou Nicole. For the hemorrhoid she said it was small and wouldn't be the cause of the bleeding as in what they found in fit test then said it might of been the prep so I'm assuming the moviprep as I've had no visible blood in stool or on wiping. And I'm waiting on appointment and will of course keep yous informed.
Sorry to hear that you feel your not getting the help you need I know how worring it can all be. I hope you get the answers and help you need. Take care Iqbal
Dear Iqbal1984 ,I'm so sorry to hear about the struggle to get an appointment! Is it possible to contact another GP at the same hospital? Or try to contact the colorectal department directly?
Hospitals typically have a "patient advocate" - either a person or a department that is established to ensure patient needs are being met. Check the hospital website or call them and see if there is such a department?
Hang in there, I do hope your persistence in trying to get checked out will pay off soon. Don't give up! We're here for you.

Rectal bleeding has many causes but always needs to be evaluated by a doctor. If your medical team is not taking your medical issues seriously, this is not a good situation and I'm so sorry for what you are going through.
Please give an update when you can. And if you can contact one of those helplines, I hope they can provide you support to get through this time while trying to get answers to your medical issues.
