Thrombocytosis…..ET? UPDATE
Hi everyone, so it’s been over a year since my last post and in that time my high platelets saga is still ongoing…. I have been quiet on here as I’ve struggled terribly with stress and anxiety about it all and found that distraction by not talking about it was my best way of coping….until now…. So here

Orbita trial.
Well have a date (2nd March) to find out if I had a stent as part of this trial. It's been an interesting few weeks lately as have had an orthopaedic appointment ( for knee) and the colonoscopy and haven't been able to say whether I have a stent or not, at least I will know now.

Hi all I’ve not been here for nearly 3 months time has disappeared recently. Last time here was the night before my surgery.
Surgery was ok ( In hindsight ! ). total hysterectomy bilateral salpingoophrectomy .., they took my appendix and also omentum. Histology came back as Stage 1c2 mucinous adenocarcinoma . Was suspected ( as most mucinous are ) that it was a secondary tumour from GI origin ( stomach / bowel) I’ve had

Worried that my 17 year old daughter has colon cancer
I sadly lost my brother to bowl cancer in 2012. After months of being told that he had gastroenteritis or tummy bug. He was then made to feel that he was being a pest, so stopped speaking help. My brother was 40 when he died and only lived for 6 months after they found the stage 4 tumour. They never

Colonoscopy side effects
I had a colonoscopy earlier this week . I learned on friday that it showed i had collagenous colitis. i will be prescribed steroids. Since the colonoscopy i have developed horrific lower back pain which conventional pain killers don’t help. Can’t take anti inflammatory drugs as on blood thinners.

Pre gynaecologist advice
I'm getting ready for this appointment as I'm so fed up with pain and being dismissed as a making it up. So far I have had a lap done in my early 20s (I'm 46 now) knly through belly button which they said was clear and told it could actually cause endo to start. This was a general gynaecologist at small

What actually causes weight gain?
I read that some of us on hydroxycarbamide, who are also JAK2 positive (self included), have experienced a weight gain of around 3 - 6 kg...or more. This has been the case for me (about a 4 kg gain) and has occurred over my first 2 years on this drug. So far, no amount of food restriction or special

does Ibrance cause gastritis? FODMAP diet helps diarrhea from Ibrance.
I have estrogen positive MBC since 2018 and on Ibrance and Faslodex since that time. I have been in remission for 18 months. one year ago I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy which showed severe stomach inflammation. My symptoms were persistent nausea and frequent diarrhea. I took a course of proton pump

Colonoscopy done and dusted, nothing sinister, just a bit of diverticulitis. Just waiting for a March to come now and find if I had a stent as part of ORBITA trial. Hopefully can get myself on list to get my knee done now.

mri for the bowel
Hi Has anyone had a MRI of they bowel done? I am bit worried that I might need one as last colonoscopy they couldn’t get very far and said it’s too dangerous to try again due to being extremely long and floppy as specialist said never seen anything like it before. They run out of tube only third way

ongoing symptoms ..
Wednesday I had a colonoscopy to a reason of a positive FIT test of 184. Very relieved to find nothing sinister just my very sluggish and constipated bowels. Fast forward to this morning .. and the upper GI. Worst procedure ever, spent whole time gagging. However reason for pain etc was found in minutes

Intestinal upset (diarrhea, tiredness, slight nausea) from ferrous sulfate?
I suffer from PLM and had low ferritin. I've taken oral iron for some years to keep my ferritin above 100. I've read that one of the adverse effects of iron sulfate can be stomach/intestinal upset. I'm experiencing my 4th episode of intestinal upset in a month. At first I thought it might be food poisoning

Colonoscopy and persistent AF
Has anyone with persistent AF/ heart failure undergone a colonoscopy. I have been advised to have further investigation following the discovery of 'blood' and really nervous about having it done. The letter only came today - I have not responded yet - they may advise against it when they know my background
