Hi, further to my first post today I had the colonoscopy with sedation , he found Diverticular Disease in one area and also a Polyp which was on a bend, he wanted a good view and good pics so it took longer and a bit uncomfortable so I had gas and air to help in addition to sedation. He asked for a colleague to come to remove it as he wasn’t happy where it was placed. Unfortunately the surgeon wasnt available so I have to go back! I don’t mind but the Prep is actually the worst bit!
The Polyp is 12mm is this a size to worry about ?

👏👏That is good news that they only found one polyp. Was your doctor able to get a biopsy of the polyp? That would tell you more about the polyp than just the size of it. The fact that you had one polyp is definitely on the good side. The overall size of the polyp isn't really a determinant of whether it's good or bad. If it is big enough to block things, then it is a definite issue. It's more informative knowing the histology, the number of polyps, and if there's a family hereditary health issue. You are catching things early and you're doing great.
I assume it was the diverticular disease that was causing the bleeding? That would be good as that is something that could be treated. I do hate that you have to have another colonoscopy to take that polyp out, but it is what it is. It sounds like you have a good doctor as he knew his expertise and called in someone to help with the removal. The pilot must be in an odd place. And yes, you do have to suffer through another prep work and it is the worst. I agree with that. But I'm proud of you that you're catching things early and you're getting good answers.
How soon are they planning to do your second colonoscopy? I've never had back-to-back colonoscopies. I did have a time period where I had many endoscopies because I had a stomach issue and they were slowly dilating and opening that had swollen shut due to my treatment regimen. They would perform an endoscopy and then I would come back in a couple of days and then do another endoscopy and then I think I had to take a week off for having a third endoscopy. Each time they were dilating the closure back open, and they had to do it in small increments. But I never did the back-to-back colonoscopy.
I do wish you the best and hope this second colonoscopy is the last one you'll have to do for a while. Be sure to ask how often you should get checked for polyps. They should put you on some kind of surveillance schedule. 👍❤️
