WHAT’S BEHIND THE RISE IN COLON CANCER AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE?
“If you’re 50 [or over] and you tell your doctor you’ve been experiencing symptoms, you immediately get a referral and an appointment for
colonoscopy
. Even if you’re 45, I don’t believe you’ll be denied,” says Levy.

People don’t usually talk about their experience of a
colonoscopy
so just wondering if what experienced was a usual part of having the procedure?

I just had
colonoscopy
and endoscopy 2 days ago after suffering a UC flare up as a result of COVID with intestinal symptoms in November. Was very shocked and disappointed to learn that my ulcerative proctitis has spread.

I’ve had a
colonoscopy
before but had another yesterday. The bowel prep had me rushing to the loo at my appointment. Didn’t have that problem before. What problems have people had with the bowel prep?

Runny eyes after virtual colonoscopy
I had a virtual CT scan on 2nd January. I was given intravenous buscopan and imaging fluid. Yesterday my eyes were watery and very slightly sore (they still are today). I was given an information sheet about going to A&E if I developed very red eyes and sight disturbance. My symptoms don’t match but

Terrified
I made an appointment with a GI this Thursday and I know I will need a
colonoscopy
to rule things out. I feel almost back to normal slightly crampy on and off and I don't know what is in my head and what is just a angry gut from the trauma. What I do know is that I am terrified.

Suspected ulcerative colitis and nausea
I'm going to ask for a sigmoidoscopy to hope that they can find what it is without having to have a full
colonoscopy
as I'm far too worried about it.

so far it’s okay
today is my prep day for my
colonoscopy
which has caused much anxiety. I’m on a clear liquid diet for 30 hours until after my procedure. I’ve been hydrating and having juice and jello and broth, but I’m still feeling hungry which I hate.

Cured by Meds?
Following an examination of stomach by GP, he said he was not happy and that he was referring me urgently to surgeons for CT scan and a
colonoscopy
. I was beside myself with worry for 4 weeks then I was referred for an Endoscopy!

Fear brought on by test result” my chart”

“ effivient but scary experience, I was lucky , all clear. But these things take their toll on one’s resilence . Last night I got a delayed chest x ray result from A and E, enlarged heart and various other things.

Bowel endo and prolapse
My last
colonoscopy
said I have a partial bowel mucosa prolapse. I don’t have any symptoms of prolapse yet. I’m currently 32 weeks pregnant through IVF. I’ve to decide between natural birth and c section.

which I question it’s necessity since nothing found on ct.
Colonoscopy

Chronic Pain,and fear.
Another is I keep being asked about having a
colonoscopy
which I had some years ago and was agony, they found I had this disease with a CT scan with contrast, which I’ve been told is better because it’s less invasive.

Colonoscopy and Prednisolone
I understand the medication I need to take prior to the
colonoscopy
causes complete evacuation of the bowels and I’m worried I may not absorb the pred/adcal. Any advice would be welcome.

Had a
Colonoscopy
and an Endoscopy to rule out any other causes for this bleeding and to identify causes for my abnormal low hemoglobin and hematocrit levels. Results indicate rectal bleeding is due to effects of radiation treatments. In June 2024 began urinary bleeding intermittently.
