Hi all I had a
colonoscopy
last week which was fine! Although the consultant said in addition to my IBS I had diverticulitis and despite a massive clear out before the procedure I was still quite blocked in places.

Any advice for gastro symptoms which respond to steroids, but no diagnosis? Does normal colonoscopy cover the small bowel?
My main question (apart from if any insights anyone might have) is – do people know if the small bowel is inspected during a normal
colonoscopy
? Is there any point in my going back and asking for a capsule endoscopy to inspect it in the vague hope there might some answer there?

I saw the gastroenterologist who checked my medical chart and found a diagnosis of colitis from a 2016
colonoscopy
. I had never been informed of this diagnosis. The gastroenterologist prescribed Budesonide. I took Budesonide EC 3 MG capsules for 2.5 months.

I’m scheduled for a
colonoscopy
this week but my anxiety is through the roof. My sibling was recently diagnosed with colon cancer and now I’m scared that I may have it as well. Any advice on how to handle the anxiety?

Rectal pain and poo talk (hopefully not too much info) 💩
I’ve had a
colonoscopy
and stool tests which have not raised any concerns other than blood in my stool. I’ve been treated multiple times for fissures and haemorrhoids. I sit in the ‘poo position’ to make it ‘easier’ to go. Nothing seems to provide me any relief other than laxatives.

Just had colonoscopy.
After reporting blood in stools for 5 weeks the exam came up clear. My first stools are light in colour and loose with bits of food in (grape skins). Is this normal?

Octasa / Mesalazine - Should I be seeing more of a change?
Had
colonoscopy
and relevant tests and doctor says that I likely have crohns and is treating me as such. I had steroids for 3 months which generally helped (though my calprotectin was higher after the course) and I started Octasa 800mg (6 a day) about 2 months ago.

A
colonoscopy

First colonoscopy a success!!
So I went in today for my first
colonoscopy
and it was all clear aside from some diverticulitis causing a bit of inflammation, but no polyps, no growths, nothing of concern, which was a complete surprise.

Struggling at the moment
He has had various blood tests and a
colonoscopy
which have all been ok. They have arranged for a rectal ct scan tomorrow to eliminate (hopefully) the possibility of bowel cancer .

Lower Right Abdominal Pain
, I am considering getting a
colonoscopy
to be sure 100% and maybe undetected polyps could be removed. I am very confused about what to do next, is this some lifelong IBS that I have to deal with or should I get more tests done? Thanks

umbilical hernia with fat
I passed blood for 3 days and had abdominal pain for a year now, had blood loss from bowel end in April with excruciating pain so referred for
colonoscopy
, endoscopy and sigmoid and only found polyps in stomach that aren’t a worry or concern to cause bleeding.

Colon cancer after CLL diagnosis
January was so blissful until Jan 30th and a routine
colonoscopy
where the Gastroenterologist found colon cancer in the sigmoid......PET scan showed nothing except something decipherable on the liver but they can't confirm anything on the liver yet and will not do the surgery until they are sure.

*colonoscopy update*
i just wanted to come on here and update on my
colonoscopy
results. I posted in here a month or so ago stating I had blood in my stool and pressure in my rectum. I finally decided to get the
colonoscopy
and he found a 2cm polyp. My doctor kept telling me he was not worried at all.
