I’ve had a colonoscopy before but had another yesterday. The bowel prep had me rushing to the loo at my appointment. Didn’t have that problem before. What problems have people had with the bowel prep?

used bowel prep day before, then used morning before I went in…but had to do it as six in morning…...everything seemed cleared out. Had colonoscopy late morning . Under a aesthetic…

I had 2 of the bloody things early 2021 as I was having bowel problems blood when wiping ( breast cancer prior to that ) 1st one had the nasty prep stuff had 2 be up the hospital by 8.30 am/9 a.m still going up until 20 minutes before leaving home no car of our own so taxi up there so that was embarassing just as well for paper pants ( good old tena ) I even rang them up 2 tell them about it so no empathy just said wear a sanitary pad ( not used them 4 years ) so doubled up on paper pants like a baby 2nd colonoscopy 2 weeks later afternoon appointment slightly better still stuff kept coming out 6/7 polyps removed 1st time 2nd time a further 3/5 more taken out so in my case no recovery in between 4 me given FODMAP diet sheet & shoved out the door more or less !!! still having problems most of last year 23 so again trying to go back and fourth 2 the Docs only 10 minute appointments each time and not getting things across 2 them in such a such short time !! yet another colon scan early this year more prep mainly dye stuff all OK again even had a scan 4 a baby this year ( As at my age I would be !!! ) but I suppose they had to rule out other things that was about things that was 5/6 months ago still got bloody IBS/Diverticular Disease and thought I would be given a course of antibiotics and all would be well with me again each time I can get 2 see a Doctor just given more pills & potions as if I know what I am doing it's just a "CATCH 22 " all the time with it all Oh I do hope my story hasn't put the fear of god in you and all goes well with you but if you have had it done I wish you a speedy recovery so take care and try 2 keep yourself as well as you can x
