Longterm "subclinical hyperthyroidism" does not affect bone density in patients having had thyroid ablation for cancer
At both visits, we determined biochemical parameters and markers of bone resorption (C-terminal telopeptide of type I
[β-CTX]) and formation (N-propeptide of type I
collagen
[PINP] and osteocalcin).

COLLAGEN POWDER
Our local health food store was suggesting a
collagen
supplement. Has anyone heard of adding
collagen
powder to smoothies or sprinkling on cereal as an aid to building connective tissue? I bought some anyway, I guess it won’t hurt at the very least! I’d be grateful for thoughts on this.

High Cortisol - Advice please
Over the past year I took some supplements which affected my adrenals and increased my cortisol levels (
collagen
and glycine powder taken for peptic ulcers). Because I became very unwell I didn’t realise it was the supplements causing the problems.

Collagen for hair
My questions are these: Are any of you taking
collagen
supplements for hair, skin and nails? If you are, do they help? Also, have any of your oncologists told you not to use
collagen
supplements with Ibrance and given you a reason why you should not use them?

Hia - has anyone or does anyone take
collagen
and has this helped with pain or given any adverse side effects? I want to try this mainly for my skin as I’m getting old and crinkly but I’ve also heard it might be good for joint pain.

Thanks for your help with Collagen question
Dear Ladies, thanks so much for all of the advice about
collagen
. Now I understand why my doctor did not recommend for me to take it. I have a hair appointment in a couple of weeks and will ask my stylist for advice about shampoos, etc. that might help with the hair thinning.

Ketones
(I’m not a fan of “instant cures”, and this along with
collagen
(for different reasons) seem to be the thing of the moment. I/we can’t fast because it throws our thyroid stuff out, can you use ketones or not - confused! Thanks)
