Hi all. Just joined group. Diagnosed by surprise in May 2019. I would love some advise on helping IBrance/annostrozole/Xgeva/xolodex thinned hair to grow & refresh. It thinned a lot when i began IBrance in Sept 2019. Now I just want my hair to grow. Any suggestions would be great. I have been taking collagen powder & don’t wash my hair but 1 every week or so.
Also, MBC & Menopause are my husbands nightmare. 😉
Shout out to all survivors out there btw! Y’all ROCK!

I have hair extensions and they look good However I’m now on IV chemo so hopefully they won’t fall out with the hair...haven’t so far as I’m using the cold cap
They’re expensive but worth it as they last a long time
Hair extensions that’s great! How is the IV going ? I am still on Xeloda but am apprehensive every time I get a scan I gone through treatments pretty quickly. Used the ice cap hope can use again. For now hoping Xeloda lasts a longtime but concerned on how your experience with IV Is going.
I tried two typesOne is plugged in and stays at a constant temperature...I tried it for about 5 mins and hated it...there were icicles on my hair!
The other type is a gel cap which is on for 15 mins before treatment then changed and a new cap on for 1 hour during chemotherapy then changed again and another put on for 15 minutes
A bit of a faff but I don’t mind it in fact it’s quite nice in a bizarre way so that’s what I’m ok with...these as far as I’m aware have been around ages and my hairs not thick...it’s fine and blonde
Hi KarenWelcome. I have been on Ibrance since Dec 2020. No hair loss or thinning as yet but not sure if it will come later. I use Vosene shampoo every morning in the shower from pound shop in Uk. It’s weird as I was told my hair would thin with letrozole And Tamoxifen in the past 10 years and I found using this cheaper shampoo everyday made it thicker lol I only found out on holiday when I forgot to take my more expensive shampoo but wouldn’t change now. I take no supplements or anything else for my hair. Not sure if you can get it in USA but worth a try if you can.
My hair has been thinning also. I have been on Ibrance and Letrozole for 7 months. I keep my hair short but every time I wash it I see a bit more scalp. My doctor told me not to use Biotin but did not give me a reason why. I only wash my hair a couple times per week and use a good quality shampoo. I also would love to find something that would help with hair growth. I wanted to try collagen but my doctor also told me not to use that either. She is not big on any supplements!
I have been on Ibrance, Letrozole and Denusomab since Jan 2020. I take Viviscal vitamins and they are great. I had very thick hair which shades a lot the first 9 months of treatment. New growth however not as quick as before nor as thick. Viviscal is expensive but worth it. Try the shampoo, conditioner and elixir lotion too.
For me, nothing has really worked in getting my hair back, the only thing that has helped with MINIMAL regrowth has been Biotin 10,000 mcg, capsules daily. I have resorted to wig “toppers”. Bella Tress are the most natural looking.
I'm on Ibrance and Anastrozole too and have noticed my hair seems to thin more than it did while I was on IV chemo (I did cold cap) I'm fortunate that I have really thick hair, I wash my hair every other day and brush every day (the wig specialist told me it's important to brush 3-4times a day every day to prevent knots as that makes it worse)I also use strengthening shampoos at the moment to use Elvive dream ends shampoo and they seem to help
I've not had hair problems so far after a year on ibrance and letrozole. I have moved over to bar products for a plastic free approach but also because most are organic and chemical free. It costs a bit more but I feel it's good for me and planet. Sorry to ask but what do you mean that MBC and menopause are your husband's worst nightmare? I hope you are being supported through this. Xx Carolyn
