Itchy Scratchy!!
My docs know about it and have given me antihistamines and
colestyramine
all to no avail. In fact it’s getting worse. Just wondered if there’s anything else available that could help. This is my first ever post here btw. Thanks

Cholestyramine (Questran) for Bile Acid Malabsorption
I am having difficulty obtaining Questran or Questran Light to treat sever bile acid malabsorption. My pharmacy says it’s currently out of stock (which it often is) but now they are saying it’s not likely to be available until April 2020. This will make life very difficult & I was wondering if this is

HE SAID YES!!!
Said yes to prescribing me a Bile sequestrant (Questran light /
Colestyramine
) It took a lot of nagging but I managed to get him to agree to the medication... just 1 sachet a day... with a follow up in ONE YEAR. Anyway, has anyone else tried this medication? What experiences have people had?

Cholestyramine problem
I have been taking Cholestyramine sachets for IBS.....for years...there is a distribution problem at the chemist, so haven't taken one for 5 days, diarrhoea back with a vengeance. Chemist told me there is a substitute in a tablet form. Anyone one had a similar problem?

Bile acid malabsorption and weight gain?
For the last 2 months I have been on 4mg sachets of
Colestyramine
daily. Has anyone taken this medication and had side effects? My follow up is not until July and I'm having serious bloating and I believe I'm still gaining weight.

I left a couple of hours later without seeing any of the surgical team and have had a phone call from the hospital pharmacy to say the I have been prescribed

Another bump in the road
Well been having issues with certain foods staying down & itching like crazy! My ONC. decided to do my body scan & an MRI to see whats up. Well, the scan came back fine the same as 4 mos. ago no growth. But the MRI showed a mass outside the pancreas. So, a endoscopy was scheduled. This was more intense

My first post - itching is driving me insane
Having done some research online I discovered the following drugs which can be given to relieve itching : naltrexone, rifampicin,
colestyramine
. Does anybody have experience of any of these? Will a GP prescribe readily?

What is the cause of the itching?
I know that liver disease causes itching - but what causes it? Is it inflammation? toxins? I'm on Olestyr / Cholestyramine and it works great to take away the itch. But now I'm getting itchy again. Dr. says I can take more olestyr but I want to understand why I itch so I can decide if it matters
