Question... on castor oil packs !?
Hi Ladies. Quick question. I’ve my 7th FET booked for Wednesday 9th of sept ( next wk) I’ve always suffered with thin lining, so this time I gave castor oil packs a go. I think it has made a big difference. I got to my 8mm at today’s scan ( woohoo 🙌) and I start progesterone tomorrow. QUESTION IS

Where to next?
So I have hit a small impasse with my doctor and I'm not sure where to go next. To summarise where I am in my B12 journey, I was diagnosed B12 deficient almost 1 year ago, I was not given the Intrinsic Factor test before commencing loading doses. I was originally started on normal loading doses, until

Is it pernicious anemia?
Just confused over my blood results, my b12 went from 197-144 in just one week. My intrinsic factor was 2. I am currently on my third injection and not feeling much better. The nurse says I wasn’t absorbing b12 at all but the gp was very vague in diagnosis. I have a lot of symptoms of PA and have done

How long after injections are MMA and Homocysteine tests inaccurate?
I'm having a very hard time finding the answer to this, how long must I go without injections for an MMA or homocysteine test to be accurate? I've read don't supplement before an MMA test but for how long? Background: I just want to know if there's any chance I've invalidated my test results through

B12 deficiency follow up.
Last week I posted about a letter I received from my GP practice telling me I was ‘borderline’ deficient (my level was 121) Anyway, today I finally got to speak with the GP who wrote the letter. She told me that earlier this year, the guidelines changed. People with a reading <115ng/L will still get

(new to forum) Struggling to diagnose/rule out Pernicious Anaemia
Hi all, I'm new to the forum (and am only in my early days of understanding PA) so apologies if my question is a bit basic. I have read through the guidelines on diagnosis for PA here http://pernicious-anaemia-society.org/diagnosis/ and can see it is hard to diagnose conclusively. I had the following

Recent Bloods Help
Hello, I’m hypo after Graves’ disease (2003) currently taking 150mg Levo the last few years. My June 2020 bloods results below ( pic). I was feeling very tired and weight gain after complaining to GP he then referred to an Endo who was really understanding and did the relevant bloods to tick others

Anyone having blood pressure issues following IV Avastin injections?
Hi everyone; I hope all is well. I'm nearly six weeks post first intravitreal(IV) Avastin injection and ten days post second IV Avastin injection. My BP is pretty high(160/90's) and nothing else could explain it other than perhaps some chronic dehydration. I was mildly elevated at times(pre Avastin therapy

Side effects of injection
Hi guys! Sorry for all the questions I just want to feel better! I got my first injection yesterday. I felt fine after and then a few hours later I was extremely dizzy. I had some lightheadedness as my main symptom to begin with but nothing like this. Is this a side effect of the injection? Does this

Does anyone get head pressure after injecting Cytamen daily as a loading dose
Hi there I’ve just joined the PA society. I’ve had the same issues as many on here of symptoms not being taken seriously just because my B12 is not low enough for them. Even though the trend is down from 390 4 yrs ago to 250 last week. They won’t test for intrinsic factor. I have been ill now for approx

What were your Anti Parietal Cell Numbers?
What were your Anti Parietal Cell Numbers? Mine is right on the borderline of positive. Trying to figure out I have b12 of 422 and a slightly elevated MMA. I also have a negative Intrinsic Factor Antibody test

Desiccated pigs stomach
My sister recently read research from 1930s and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about eating desiccated pigs stomach. By doing so they ingested pigs intrinsic factor. I will try and find the article and add it to the post.

Medichecks testing
I have decided to take matters into my own hands and order an Intrinsic Factor test from Medichecks. I know to have it done towards the end of my B12 injection. I have requested a nurse to come to the house as I don't know anyone that can take the blood. Do you have to receive your test first and

Something I noticed
In my opinion, in the minds of doctors, there is a big difference between being B12d and having Pernicious Anaemia. For some reason people who are B12d seem to get fobbed off by the medical staff .... but if you have PA, it is seemingly a legitimate medical condition and they can't do enough to help

This sounds like PA, right?
Several years ago I would occasionally get short of breath. I realized it might be B12, and specifically PA because I eat a lot of meat, and started getting B12 injections. I would get an injection, go several months without symptoms, start getting short of breath again, get another injection, etc. I

Help with blood results please: B12, ferritin and D.
Hi all. Having had a very low B12 result back in February I got sick of waiting for my GP to re-run the tests I'd had done privately, and paid to have them done again. My results are now in and I'd appreciate your input. Background: I'm vegetarian (though not vegan and eat a lot of dairy), hypothyroid

I'm sure its lupus
Please advise me, my background is sero negative APS diagnosed at St Thomas' in 2004, positive anti ro same time so told SS. Diagnosed fibro 1997. Though I've always had more lupus symptoms than SS. I get raised itchy blisters on wrists and lower legs, mouth ulcers, arthralgia, multiple spine fractures

As injection schedule decreases, symptoms are returning!
So as some of you know (Seth12345), I was diagnosed with b12d about 8 weeks ago. My loading doses were: once a day for 7 days, once a week for a month and once a month for a year. I just completed the once a week for a month, with the last injection being one day late, on the 8th day. Two days later

HAIR CARE
One of you ladies mentioned Nioxin #3 Shampoo for thinning hair. I would like to order this shampoo but would like to know if it actually stops the hair from falling out. I don't want to spend money on it if my hair is going to fall out anyway. Someone else also mentioned Nizoral Shampoo and Conditioner
