Hello, I hope you're all well :) I've been trying to cope with a pain condition for well over 5 years now. Started with rectal and back pain mid month and now it's become a case of just 1 week out of a month (post period) where I don't experience pain and symptoms. I had a laparoscopy in 2021 and

Dad not waking up from induced coma after Sudden Cardiac Arrest, What are his chances? Signs of 'waking up'?
My Dad is 54 years old and collapsed at work last Friday 03/03/2023 from Sudden Cardiac Arrest. No symptoms, no chest pains, no warning signs. He is moderately fit, not a heavy drinker but is a heavy smoker and they found a blocked valve that had built up for months allegedly due to the smoking. His

Prophylactics
Hi I have been on Acalabrutinib for two weeks now along with prophylactics, one being Co trimoxazole , which I seemed to react to. I have now been offered Pentamidine, which I have read up on and don’t like the sound of plus it does not sound as if it protects as well. Is anyone else on these drugs

Pain relief for R.A - alternatives to what I'm using...
Hi there, I've had R.A since last September. I've been on MTX for the last 5 months and it hasn't worked, so I'm waiting to start on Adalimumab which I'm led to believe can take up to 12 weeks to become effective. So far I've had 3 steroid injections, along a 10 week course of Prednisolone to help

Most of my difficulties with Osteoradionecrosis were associated with the right hand side of my jaw which I was finally starting to manage to a reasonable level of discomfort (I also

What pain relief do you use?
Following on from my thread, I just wondered what pain relief you use? Naproxen, paracetamol, Mefenamic acid have done nothing for me. I'm currently on co-codamol 30/500 which is working but is saying my constipation to be worse than it is already. Does anyone use Amitriptyline? Thinking it might help

Worried that my 17 year old daughter has colon cancer
I sadly lost my brother to bowl cancer in 2012. After months of being told that he had gastroenteritis or tummy bug. He was then made to feel that he was being a pest, so stopped speaking help. My brother was 40 when he died and only lived for 6 months after they found the stage 4 tumour. They never

”CONFUSED” UPDATE
Well, I increased my Pred to 9 mg for 5 days but didn’t go straight back to my previous dose (4.5mg) but went to 6mg. So far the flu-type symptoms have gone but I still have a low-grade headache, plus pain in both shoulders and in the neck. I have tried taking paracetamol but this only has minimal

Steroids and Ibuprofen
I am currently on 7mg pred for PMR. I am also suffering from a trapped nerve in my back which I have had for six weeks now which has been VERY painful. My doctor has said under no circumstances to take any medication containing ibuprofen because of my steroids. Paracetomol does nothing to relieve

Struggling to get comfortable when sleeping
Hello all, my wife is exhausted and 1) She's scared to sleep in case she doesn't wake up and 2) The pain in her neck and shoulders from lying down. G.p appointment
I have a g.p telephone appointment on Friday and I'm dreading it! He won't give me a face to face appointment as it's not classed as urgent, but it's very important to me. He just increased my propanol last time, which didn't help and have given me naproxen which make me feel sick. Can I insist on seeing
