Do pain killers make the pain completely go away?
I'm starting to think I'm not on strong enough pain killers, but the dr won't prescribe me anything else. I currently take Co-codamol 30/500mg, but all it does is make me feel a bit woozy but the pain levels are exactly the same. If I went onto a stronger painkiller such as tramadol will that make

Hi I'm newish on here
I'm not still not sure if I should be on here or not! My blood markers for the RA factor are always negative although I do have OA. However my consultant says that I have a combination of both OA & inflammatory arthritis. I had to see him privately as the original appt with the rheummy clinic 3 yrs

Back pain
I had a virus at Christmas that went on for some time, it's left me feeling very tired with little energy. The arthritis has flared up so I've been very sore everywhere. I saw my Dr on Monday & he thinks that the virus has stirred things up so gave me a steroid injection. I really hoped it would work

The pay off...
So yesterday was a good day, just as well I'd been dreading travelling to a meeting in London in this weather, but apart from a bit of stiffness and a few tweaks all was good. Roll on 24 hours and of course it's pay off time! I was awake half the night with terrible pain in my hips and today I can

Co-codamol
Took some of DH's co-codamol 8/100 last night which helped with the sore back a bit, though not overnight. See earlier post. Doc today prescribed the stronger co-codamol 30 instead. I've only had a total of 4 today (2 at 1 a.m. and 2 at 6 p.m.) and I do not feel fine. Colicky and feeling of 'not quite

Ouch!!
Not content with an exerbation of my asthma and my eczema my back decides to join in - yowser I have got the most agonising pain in the middle of my lower back. The pain is even worse than post-operative pain from Caserean and bladder surgery. Gave in and went to Out of Hours GP, who asked me to climb

Tripped up...
OK I am just really looking for some ideas, not really medical diagnosis, but maybe some ideas on where I go from here. The situation as it stands is: Over the last 2 years, my asthma just seems to have gotten more and more aggressive and I even got to the point where I was being admitted or seen in

Pleural rub.
Hi everyone, I'm a new member of Asthma uk, but a lifetime Asthmatic!. I've got severe, brittle Asthma and am on the full range of meds. I'm 33, married and have an 11 yr old son. Usually I can cope OK-ish, with the bad chests, infections and a bit of chest pain, but I've now got a BAD chest infection
