Insomnia and worry through IVF/pregnancy after miscarriage earlier in the year
Hello I’ve always been a terrible sleeper. I am really pleased that I am pregnant after my first round of ivf (very early days).l BUT... I miscarried at 21 weeks earlier in the year and although I am feeling so blessed and lucky and happy to be pregnant, I am also terrified and sleeping worse than ever

Ibandronic Acid
I tried to tolerate Alendronic Acid, but was quite poorly with taking it, However my doctor prescribed Ibandronic Acid taken monthly; this is the 3rd monthly dose now. I can truly say now that I’ve had no side effects at all- Hope this helps someone experiencing the side effects of Alendronic Acid.

The last month
Diagnosed PMR Nov. last. Now starting my last month at 1mg pred. Everything has went smoothly. Hopefully I will still be as well at end Sept. Will be glad to get off Alendronic acid. Hope everyone is making same progress as I have.

DEXA scan results and thanks to this forum.
Firstly thanks to this forum for the advice about alendronic acid and dexa scans. In brief, I was diagnosed with PMR in April started pred in May. My GP wanted me to go on AA because I'd broken a bone a few years back and there was the assumption I was low bone density. (I mentioned it was a spectacular

Omega-3 fish oil supplements linked with lower cardiovascular disease risk
I thought we had been told that fish oil supplements don't work. It seems that they do, a little: "This meta-analysis provides the most up-to-date evidence regarding the effects of omega-3 supplementation on risk of multiple CVD outcomes. We found significant protective effects of daily omega-3 supplementation

Unsuccessful pain management
Hi everyone, Last night I ended up being taken into my local A + E by ambulance after ringing 111. I’m on the second day of my cycle and have been having my usual symptoms; sickness, headaches, fainting, diarrhoea and feeling extremely fatigued. The pain this month is the worst it’s been, it just seems

Mefenamic Acid
Hi all. I was wondering about others' experiences with mefenamic acid. I've heard/read some things about there being a limit to how much you can take it, or it becoming less effective over time. I've also heard something about it potentially *causing* pain, if you take it for too long??? I'm planning

Any Pcos ladies taking myo-inositol & alpha-lipoic acid before IVF?
Hi Ladies, I was diagnosed with PCOS around 15 years ago. It wasn’t until my second ectopic pregnancy that I started to really educate myself on the condition. I’m not your ‘typical’ PCOS sufferer (as I’m constantly told, like it makes a difference 😑) I have low BMI, no excessive hair growth or acne

Can diet prevent or slow down dementia?
We hear so much from the media about what we should or should not eat. One day blueberries are the new so-called ‘superfood’ that will reduce our risk of developing dementia, the next it is the humble plum. But what information can we rely on to be accurate? Can the food we eat really reduce our risk
