What to ask for next? Referral? What specialism?
Hi, please can anyone suggest? Saw GP for recent flurry of tests. I am hypothyroid, on levothyroxine since 2000, ‘controlled’ (i.e. T4 in range.) Just requested antibodies, could only get TPO tested on nhs. TPO ab present. (GP would not say more than ‘your thyroid condition is an autoimmune condition

Hypothyroidism and cholesterol - also fluctuating TSH?
This is my first post on thyroid UK but I was advised to come here from the cholesterol forum. I am 32 years old and I have hypothyroidism. I was initially found to have high cholesterol back in 2016. It was 5.8 (<5.0) I have also been getting white plaques of skin around my eyes, the nurse said that

Have I got Hashimoto's or not?
I would really appreciate your wisdom and views on this quandary. From the tests I have been given, the "experts" say that I do not. TSH / free T4 / TPO & TG antibodies, serum Ferratin are all within "normal range". However, despite requests I have not been tested for : free T3 or reverse T3. But, my

Can Prednisone affect Thyroid tests?
For years I suspected my thyroid was underactive. My mother developed this after having children My Dr. said thyroid test is normal and I was surprised because I have so many symptoms of low thyroid. I recently learned they are trained to use "cascade testing" for thyroid. This means they only test for

Could my Thyroid just be starving?
Hi all! So I posted previously here: https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/138284761/doc-says-normal-thyroid-but-somethings-not-right Numerous comments suggested Hashimotos based on the bloods I posted. So I did a medichecks full thyroid panel including antibodies. Here are the results: TSH *4.73

Come from B12 forum - can treating iron deficiency unmask hypothyroid symptoms?
Hi, this is my first post on this site. I posted on the PA forum as I have low B12. I had my 2nd B12 injection done in June, they are every 3 months. No loading doses. I seem to feel an improvement in symptoms a couple of weeks or so after the injection has been done; however, even though my next injection

Advice on taking NDT please
I currently take 31.25mcg of Levo and I was going to order two pots of 32.5mg of Nature-throid (if it's available at the moment). I just wondered whether people normally order two different brands of NDT when they are first trying it, in case the first type they try doesn't suit them? Also, what

MCH Rising TSH b12
Hello there - I was diagnosed with sub clinical hypothyroid 16 months ago. My vitamin b12 was borderline and I also have the TPO antibodies. My Serum T4 level is 10.4 pool/L and has stayed pretty much the same. My Serum TSH level has gone down from 10.2 mU/L to 8.2 and the last test was 3:62. However
