Is my GP being unreasonable?
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism after the birth of little girl about a year ago when my TSH levels were over 40 MU/L. I’ve been taking 100mg of levothyroxine ever since. I’ve been more or less ok apart from dips around my period time. However about 2 weeks ago the crushing tiredness returned along

Prolonged Duration of Hashitoxicosis in a Patient with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis: A Case Report and Review of Literature
Distinguishing between Graves and Hashimoto's is important but we do see quite a few questionable diagnoses here. Important to note the mildly elevated TSI in this case. Good to see a case handled with subtlety and, apparently, sympathy. [i]Cureus. 2018 Jun; 10(6): e2804. Published online 2018 Jun

TPO antibodies have reduced- is this significant?
Evening all, I had initial blood tests in October 2017 which showed raised TSH and very high TPO levels at 950 (normal range 0-35). I've been taking levothyroxine since October 2017, currently taking 62.5 daily. I've also been taking vitamin d supplement as this was low, and I went gluten free in November

Thyroid not inflamed
TPO Antibodies are negative and TG Antibodies is positive. The doctor said it was a little high, but not enough. He also said my thyroid is not inflamed because if it was I would have hollered out when he was pressing on my neck, so maybe mine was from a bacterial or viral infection. He said my thyroid

Should I supplement with T3?

My most recent bloods showed: August 2018 on Levo 75 T3 4.1 T4 18.9 TSH 2.5 July 2018 on Levo 50 TSH 6.8 T4 14.9 I'm not sure what the T3 levels were in July but I will phone my doctor

Does anyone take "Magnesium Citrate Calm" for severe and chronic IBS-C..has it helped?
Had to go yet again to ER for an enema for impaction/constipation. Doctor's office could not get me in, and they would have sent me to ER anyway. Have had "C" since childhood, but it became worse (my Digestive system shut down) after coming off cold turkey off prescribed Opiods. I was on the lowest dose

I'm new & in need of recommendations please
Hi there I'm having no luck with my G.P. in understanding my symptoms & doing more tests. So, I took the matters in my own hands & in the past few days have spent hours researching & reading to understand what's going on with my body. Of course, I can't say conclusively (as I need the relevant 6 tests

What is Benzoyl Peroxide?
It is one of the most effective and most widely used drug in acne. It releases free-radical oxygen which destroys bacteria, in particular anaerobic and microaerophilic bacteria. Although the primary acting mechanism of benzoyl peroxide is its bactericidal action, it also has mild keratolytic and comedolytic

Is it a borderline underactive thyroid?
Had a routine blood test just over a month ago which came back with readings indicating an under active thyroid. The test was redone last week and was told it was borderline and no medication needed but would need retesting in 6 months. However on requesting the results and checking online, I’m confused

Hi, I'm new here so I don't know if I'm asking this question the right way, but I will try my best! I got my thyroid lab results a few months ago and I was a bit scared about my TPO antibodies (I'm 23 y/o female) : TSH, TTH: 2.813 mU/L (normal range: 0.55 - 4.78) FT3: 5.53 pmol/l (normal range: 4.7

Recovery if b12 deficiency is due to diet.
Hi. I just asked my naturopath to do another b12 test to see where I am. Turns out my gp did not believe me that I have low b12 even though I’m in range at 332 range being 155-655 in Canada. I’ve been ill for a year. Tingling in head and all over body. Dizziness, balance problems, fatigue you name it
