TPO Antibodies in Hashimoto’s and Graves’ Disease by Dr Eric Osansky
In summary, thyroid peroxidase (TPO) antibodies are the most common type of thyroid antibody. Although they are more strongly associated with Hashimoto’s, 80% of those with Graves’ disease will have elevated TPO antibodies. As for what causes elevated TPO antibodies, according to the triad of autoimmunity

First Medichecks results - Show new problems, since discharge from Endocrinologists and self medicating.
I ordered a Thyroid check ultravit. NHS hasn’t checked my Vit D, B12, Ferritin, Folate for years. I also did a Rhematology profile as feel awful and still trying to explain my proximal muscle weakness. I have not been on any supplements for several months. Rhematology everything ok except some red blood

Help with these results and symptoms - tired of 'wait and see' approach of NHS
Hi Everyone As my profile outlines, I have been suffering from underactive symptoms for a long time and am repeatedly tested and only ever offered a ‘wait and see’ approach. I have recently seen my GP (repeatedly), had an ulstrasound and a CT scan and an appointment with a Private Endo (who I suspect

Rapidly deteriorating but GP refuses to increase Levo dose based on blood results!
Evening All I'm hoping for further advice and guidance please. I have been deteriorating rapidly for almost a year now! Barely functioning on a daily basis. I've been on 50mcg of Levo for just over a year and a half. All seemed fine for 6 months and I had no major symptoms or side effects from the meds

What is considered a positive antibodies result?
Hi all, I am currently considered sub-clinical hypothyroid and my doctor has put me on levothyroxine. She said I should have an antibodies blood test, and at the time she said "people either have them (antibodies) or they don't". My results came back - TgAb is 53U/ml (range 0-60) and TPO is 50 U/ml (

Advice on supplements after blood tests.
On 17th April I had numerous blood tests following a visit to the doctors to discuss my extreme tiredness and hair loss. I was subsequently diagnosed with an under active thyroid but I wonder if any one can look at the other test results and suggest some supplements. I've entered my subsequent thyroid
