Still unclear about cortisol suppression
I wonder if people could clarify this for me. Do our adrenals shut down completely on prednisone or do they adjust depending on our dose of prednisone? I have assumed that as I have lowered my prednisone dose, my cortisol production is slowly creeping back up. Am I wrong?

Weight
I’ve been on Prednisolone since end of January. At first my weight dropped due to lack of appetite, but this last week it has gone up quite a bit. When it didn’t happen at first I thought I’d be lucky & get away with no rise. Am I kidding myself? I know I haven’t been exercising as much as usual due

Anxiety again?
I have gone from 4 mg of prednisone to 3.5 and am experiencing mild anxiety and depression. I was on 4 for a month. Am also getting monthly Actemra infusions and have been since last fall. I don’t know why my body/mind are reacting as they are. I also don’t know why my legs and arms still feel tight

Saw the Rheumatologist, went well, Metoprolol update, and I have trigger finger
I have been reducing on my own for a while, was at 12.5 from beginning dose of 30mg prednisone. He told me to reduce the evening dose to 2.5 from 5mg. I have been able to do that so far without any pains. And my CRP is now 9 from 103. Sed rate is 23 and some other RF IGA test is pending. My WBC

PMR confusion over drug timings
Hi, I have PMR and been taking prednisolone for about a year, trying to reduce and now on 9mg daily. I take Omeprazole in the early morning, before Pred. and then the calcium chew. I have seen on these posts recently that the calcium should not be taken near to the Pred as they do not react well with

Tocilizumab
Hi. Has anyone had Tocilizumab injections for pmr? I've been looking at recent research which seems to suggest favourable outcomes for pmr sufferers who have problems tapering prednisolone.

methotrexate and Covid booster
I’ve just had my Covid booster, when I asked the nurse if I should pause my methotrexate for 2 weeks she said, no, definitely not. She checked with the GP there and they said there was no evidence to support pausing methotrexate. I’ve definitely read that pausing methotrexate is helpful. I’m currently

Covid booster prednisolone dose criterion - NHS
Update to post below: Thanks firstly to all who responded illustrating the inconsistency in Covid booster policy. Anyhow, after being refused a booster by my GP practice, I received an NHS text asking me to come in for a booster as I “may” meet the criteria … again to be assessed when presenting myself

Hi, has anyone tried the above injections. I have been approved for this as I have allergic asthma and EILO. I'm currently permanently on Prednisone as inhalers do not work for me and hoping with these injections to be able at some point come off Prednisone. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Prednisolone and diarrhoea
Been on steroids for suspected GCA not quite three weeks now - went down from 50 mg to 40mg after first week. Not generally feeling too bad though not as bright as I was in the first few days of steroid honeymoon. Am having some issues with loose and sudden stools which initially I thought were an antibiotic

Endometrial regeneration
I posted a few weeks back when our 5th transfer had failed (3rd with donor eggs). I wasn't sure if I wanted to continue and I got a lot of support here for which I am grateful. We have no embryos left but 2 rounds left in our package- we've deciced to see those through and then probably stop. Obviously

2 years into Stage 4 Treatment
Hello all, I’m writing for some help regarding my dad. 2 years ago he was diagnosed prostate adenocarcinoma Gleason 5+4 with PSA 146 and Mets to ischium, sacrum and one rib. He started on Zytiga, Lupron and Prednisone and received 20 treatments of radiation to a cumulative dose of 60 Gy. Overall

Off limit foods?
Has anyone ever been told not to have certain foods like blue cheese when they are taking DMARDS or on Prednisolone? Hubby bought blue cheese and I love it but I saw online I'm not supposed to eat it. I'm on sulfasalazine and pred.

Aching and sore hands and feet
I've had PMR and GCA since 2018. I'm now at 3.5 mg prednisone. I've developed carpal tunnel - took up knitting and probably surf on my phone too much! Both my feet and hands and wrists are sore and aching. Carpal tunnel explains the hands and wrists, but what about my feet? I have a new rheumy

Newly Transplanted Kidney
After three years on the wait list, I got the call last week to come in and have a kidney transplanted from a deceased donor. My expectation that it would be another three years of waiting, so this was quite a pleasant surprise. My whole life changed in an instant. I was so happy and yet very scared

Abnormal blood result
Thought I was doing well. Down to 2mg of prednisolone daily and not really any pain as such. Sometimes just a bit stiff when I move my head but mainly only on the right side and lots of cracking in the neck so thought it was more mechanical.Just had my annual review and first of all the nurse announces

Statins and Cholesterol
I have been told that my blood test shows that my Cholesterol is 6.9.Are statins and prednisolone compatible? Not enthusiastic about adding any medications into the mix.

Methotrexate Update
I was prescribed MTX a year ago, about 18months into my PMR journey, I reluctantly followed my Rheumatologist’s instructions and in October reported back to him with details of nausea, 3 days a week of pain, inertia and depression and a prednisone journey of 1mg reduction per month. I asked if I could

Blood sugar levels when taking Prednisolone
Since starting my steroid journey last September I have tried to minimise my sugar intake and haven’t managed too badly seeing as though I have a very sweet tooth but I’m struggling a little now. I know that I should try to avoid jams, honey, marmalade etc but don’t know if there is anything out there
