Should I sell and retire with PSA at 0.1 following 9 months undetectable?
Diagnosed early 2022, Gleason 4+4. Metastasis to multiple sites on the pelvis, no other detectable spread. Triplet therapy with ongoing goserelin and abiraterone with prednisone. Abiraterone is once per day with a low fat meal. Following nine months of undetectable PSA results, I recently received

NHS App
Currently tapering down on meds. On RTX infusion , Methotrexate and Prednisolone. There is the need to monitor bloods and every three months get a ANCA reading. Thought I would look on the NHS App for results, but none are visible. On call to get the results, queried and was told its political,

Grumpy Old Lady in pain
A follow up to my previous post.. Is it my fault? That I didn’t give them enough relevant information when I phoned? How do I know what is relevant when I’m not a trained medical professional and I can’t see what comes up on their computer screen against my name? Would it hurt for them to ask

Hi everyone
My name is Dave and I was diagnosed with MPA Vasculitis around the end of September. I had been having fevers and night sweats that would come and go most days for approx 6 months. Also aching legs and tingly feet. GP had no luck finding the cause for about 3 or 4 months. Then my wife insisted I should

Prednisone and kidneys
I was diagnosed with PMR in July 2023 and have been on prednisone ever since, although I have tapered down from 15 mg a day to 13 mg, and will be tapering further down to 12 in the next week or so. My last bloodwork showed higher than normal creatinine levels (104), and a glomerular filtration rate of

live yoghurt and prednisolone
I debated whether to add this to the current discussion or start with a fresh question. Lots of you say you take prednisolone with live yoghurt, but when I searched for relevant information a while back it said that you should not take prednisolone with live yoghurt (can't remember why). I eat a lot

Dentistry.
I have PMR and have also been treated for Acoustic Neuroma by Gamma Knife surgery. The Acoustic Neuroma is no longer active but damage remains. I presently take 10mgm Prednisone daily in one dose. I need several dental extractions on the same side (upper jaw). Should I expect my dentist to refer me to

Surgery and PMR?
How important is the fact that you have PMR relevant to hospital treatment and surgery? I am on a low dose of Prednisolone and recently had abdominal surgery. According to my GP’s surgery notes I don’t have PMR at all but it has been recorded on the NHS database and I get extra Covid vaccinations.

Sudden anxiety attacks and mood swing on first Prednisone taper
Hi there I’m 44 and was put on Prednisone, 20mg, 3.5 weeks ago for suspected PMR. My mum also had PMR at a young age of 42. I’m still waiting for my rheumatology appointment, but meanwhile the GP prescribed steroids that are working well, where all other pain medication was not. So the joint pain

Last week I posted about receiving a PMR diagnosis in December and had ongoing low level headaches and fevers along with my rheumatologist recommending a drop of Pred from 20 mg to ten over two weeks. Last weekend I developed increased scalp tenderness, and increased neck and shoulder pain, so increased

Shingrix vaccine for immunosuppressed people aged 50+
I thought I would just post this from the gov.uk website because I have just a bit of struggle convincing our surgery that I was eligible, so maybe other people haven't been invited either. The full list is on chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk

PMR after GCA
Hi I’m in need of some advice. I’ve been diagnosed with PMR after being off Prednisone for one year. I started on 15mg of Pred but symptoms not covered. My GP advised to go up to 20mg but two days and I am in pain. Not sure how long it takes to kick in or should I be thinking of increasing the dose.

Side effects of steroids
I am well aware that Prednisolone can affect you in various ways, acutely while you are using them and also long term.. But could it weaken your blood vessels? I have just found out that I have a couple of small bleeds/leaks from blood vessels at the back of one eye. While the bleeds in themselves

Hi everyone, I tried unsuccessfully to taper down from 10mg to 8mg and like Dorsetlady said it was too big a drop. And she was right I tried saying that I will get over the severe aches and pains to no avail I had to go back to 10mg.Thank you for reading my small note. Peter
