Advice on medication
Over the last couple of weeks I have had pains in my stomach and for longer than that regular bladder problems. Always feeling I need to go to the toilet. I am on 3.5 mg of prednisolone and am wondering if it has anything to do with the other pills I am taking each day. 1 -20 mg omeprazole, 1 - 1000

has my sisters Polymyalgia returned?
hi, I have GCA, following Polymyalgia, I am worried about my sister who has successfully tapered of prednisone, then after a few months has it returned? she is in complete pain all over can hardly walk, blood test were taken and the inflammatory level was not raised, so the doctor said it wasn’t Polymyalgia

Metastatic prostate cancer in the lungs
Radical prostatectomy in 2003 with PSA of 3.9. PSA slowly rose to .07 in 2023. PET scan in May, 2023 found nodules in my lungs with the largest being 1.4 cm. Needle biopsy identified it as metastatic adenocarcinoma from prostatic origin. 5 sessions of 50Gy cyberknife treatments on the 1.4 cm nodule

Prednisone Tapering-what's going on?
Some of you have followed my posts for a while. Last post I spoke about yoyoing up and down, but each time I have tried to increased my dose temporarily 5mg, it seems I'm stuck there and can't even taper back down 1mg to get back to where I was previously before the temporary increase. I am currently

PMR... back on 20mg
Thanks everyone for replies and suggestions after my post last Monday. Saw my GP on Tuesday, we discussed the pain, stiffness and fatigue I was experiencing since tapering off prednisone late last year. She agreed I should start at 20mg day, after bloods for Crp and ESR. The results: Crp 3 and ESR

Polymyalgia
My husband has had polymylgia for about 6 years and started on 15mg prednisone and has only ever got down to 8mg but then can't cope so is now on 13mg . Consultant wants him to get down to 5mg .He would have no quality of life and would be in pain too much . He has tried other drugs but they didn't work

Should I care Pred?
As a PMR sufferer, I’m wondering if it is a good idea to carry, say, 20mg of Prednisolone when out and about. I understand that a sudden flare or, worse, development of GCA symptoms, would make this a prudent course of action. Thx

Concerning Micro clots?
Hello friends, I have had some recent events I wanted to run by you all to get your thoughts. I had 3 mini strokes before I was diagnosed with APS some 20 plus years ago. Prior to the mini strokes I had lots of little sharp events mostly in my left temple but sometimes in my right temple. They were

PMR type pain with normal blood labs
Hi. I just found this site and hoping to get some insight. The posts and advise I've read so far are outstanding and I wish I had found this site earlier. I have had PMR since December 2020. I've tapered down to 2 mg 2-3 times now. When I get below 4mg, the pain in my arms returns. I have assumed

eosinophils, cough, alopecia
My health issue started first with alopecia back April 2021 when I noticed my mustache having a patch spot. Than slowly it spread all over mustache and beard towards Sept 2022. During that same time, I noticed hair start falling in clusters. Did not fall entirely but called diffuse alopecia. However

Where should I go from here? Reduced by doc from 6 Pred to 2 and now suffering
Having been told by 3 doctors to try to get off Prednisolone so I could be assessed by specialist at hospital (as no doctor felt able to confirm I really had PMR although on steroids for 2 years!) I reduced from 6 to 2 Pred in 8 weeks. Result: much itching when reducing down from 4 to 3 and now, at 2

Finally, we may have found the smoking gun.
We had been able to put it aside, and the hospital agreed they had made a mistake when they said Margaret had Cirrhosis. And was, in fact, NASH with Grade 1 fibrosis. Still, NASH was a surprise, as Magaret was a nondrinker, not obese, and had no health conditions that would even be considered for

Diagnosed under 55
I’m looking specifically for men and partners of men who were diagnosed with de novo stage four prostate cancer at their initial diagnosis. The treatments are different and unfortunately so it the overall outlook. The younger men are diagnosed with PCa, the more aggressive the cancer tends to be.
