Update in my lymph node metastasis
After 1 3 month Lupron shot and 104 days of Casodex my PSA has dropped from 4.48 to 0.17. I get another Lupron shot on June 3. I have a question, may be someone can throw some light on it. It is said the metazoic PCa becomes castrate resistant, on the average, in about 2 to 3 years of hormone treatment

Hip/Back Pain/Extreme Fatigue - residual from Casodex?
My husband on intermittent Lupron, last injection last July. Took generic for Casodex for 5 weeks, stopped mid-December due to severe pelvic pain (a known SE) and pain gradually went away. (Bone scan & CT - no mets). Before Casodex was borderline diabetic, A1C shot up to 8.9 and blood pressure went

PCa with bone mets and still bleeding
My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer Gleason 7 in 2017. He was on zoladex injection every three months and Casodex daily. Recently it was discovered that he has bone mets. He just finished 10 rounds of radiation and God willing he’ll start chemo soon. His bleeding in the urine stopped after radiation

Would non-curative cryo buy me time before ADT?
Feb. 27, 2019 from yeatz: Just found out my recurrent PC is beyond curing. My EPE, penetration into seminal vesicles, & Gleason 8 put curative treatments out of reach. Docs recommend the usual: ADT. But: I HATE Lupron! Very bad fatigue, depression, cognitive problems in 2 years on it before.

Why no pain at all ??
Just wanted to know whether it is "normal" not to have any pain at all, despite having multiple mets to the bones and lung. I have been on treatment for almost exactly ONE YEAR now and have taken Casodex (14 days), Eligard (almost a year), radiation therapy (38 fractions), docetaxel (6 cycles). I

New to this site today
I've spent some time looking around the site. Seems to be very active and chocked full of interesting info. Thanks to all for that. I'm 73, otherwise in good health. 3 1/2 years post robot-prostatectomy with clear margins, Gleason 4/3, PSA at surgery 4.9. PSAs post surgery were <0.015 ng/ml until late

Agonist vs antagonist
Hi, I am shipoo, I am new to this site. Very impressed with everyone’s knowledge. I was just recently diagnosed with PC. Pet scan showed pelvic lymph node involvement and one mast on hip bone; G score 8; and PSA 6. I would appreciate any knowledge you can share regarding which hormone therapy you

Casodex dosage
Zytiga failure after just 6 months and subsequent RP. Continuing on Eligard. Just started 50 mg Casodex daily to control accelerating PSA, 0.15 11/22/18 to 0.55 2/12/19. Is this the right dose, as I have seen various postings of up to 150 mg? I am pending application for Provenge. Also Olaparib

Clearly Defined Mets - Radiate or not??
First, thanks to all of you for your input - Fish, George 71, Nalakrats and everyone else. I have six Mets that are clearly defined on my scans. One on each hip bone, two on my spine and one each on a rib. I too am very interested in radiation treatments to see if we can get rid of these mets. I am

Docateaxel or Actinium?
Decision time!! Any advice and experiences would be appreciated. Diagnosed 2014 with PSA 15. Gleason 8 (9?) . ADT worked for a number of years but PSA climbed in late 2016 so had 62 Grays in 20 fractions late 2016. PSA continued to rise so had 2 months of Casodex which did not work with PSA climbing

Chemo treatment/What happens after chemo?
Hello all. I hope everyone is doing well. Just wanted to give everyone an update on my husband. I had to take mike to the emergency room Sunday afternoon because he was having shortness of breath and thought his hemoglobin might have been low and he might need a blood transfusion (he’s already had 3)

Phase 3 ARCHES trial - Enzalutamide + ADT
Press release below. {On a side note, I have used "ADT" in the past to mean classic ADT, because everyone seemed to be doing it. It made me uneasy, since Abiraterone is a form of ADT, and the androgen receptor antagonists, such as Casodex & Enzalutamide can be viewed as forms of ADT. In fact, I was

Looking for a second opinion, probably from Sloan-Kettering Medical Oncologist
I'm a 79 year old first diagnosed in 2007 (Gleason 6) and treated then with radioactive seeds. PSA got as low as .21 in 2011 but in 2015 began a rapid rise. Multiple prostate biopsies and scans could not find the cancer until nodules in the lungs were considered suspicious and I started taking Casodex

At Home with the Lord
On Nov. 25, 2018 I lost my soul mate of 45 years to recurrent prostate cancer. He was diagnosed 7 years ago as Gleason 8, underwent 42 radiation treatments and 2 Lupron shots, and in Feb., 2018 at age 83 his PSA started rising, to 5.0. When they did a CT scan to restage the prostate cancer, they found
