Statins advised at cholesterol level of 5.6
IMO your doctors advice is complete c..p! REvise your diet, exercise regime and try plant stanols first. Don't forget there is a vested financial interested in getting everyone on statins!

Blood results on NDT
Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me with interpreting my blood results. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in 2007. Since then I have been on Levo until May this year (130mg), when I changed to NDT (Nature-Throid). I started with 0.5 grain and now I'm on 2 grains. Last week I did blood tests

Is Life Better With Butter?
‘Eat Butter’ proclaims Time magazine this week. Below this directive sits a voluptuous swirl of butter back lit to look like a yellow gift from the gods. The gist of this cover story, written by Bryan Walsh, is that for decades fat has been labelled an enemy that causes heart disease and obesity. More

Brilliant interview with Dr. Jonathan Wright http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2014/06/15/hypothyroid-hyperthyroid-disease.
Includes a few things I never heard before but covers these topics: chlorination and fluoridation kills heavy metals cause reverse T3 TRH -thyroid releasing stimulation test but you'll never be able to get it whole thyroid hormone (12 not 4) why your GP under prescribes importance of FT3 test and even

Impact of taking up running on cholesterol ?
Back in January I was called in to the GP for a checkup. Apparently they were seeing all men 50-55 who they hadn't seen for a while. I was told that I was not overweight and that my heart-rate, blood pressure, liver (amazingly) and prostate were all very good. My cholesterol level however was too high

I have a goitre but GP says I don't... Please help with understanding my blood test results...
Hello all :) I have been lurking on this forum, and you ladies {&gentlemen?} seem very knowledgable & supportive. I am glad I found it! I was also near the fallout zone when Chernobyl happened so maybe that caused my goitre? I am paranoid about cancer, my friend died from leukaemia when he was 12 ..
