Your HDL seems to be low, but otherwise; NO

I would not worry about it - as worry is bad for you. Wait until you have seen your doctor and see if you can see a nutritionalist and keep reading the forum. It is your life, the decisions are yours. Lots of people out here wanting to help. Remember, you are not alone with this.

Not alone but some info on the forum is not good. Bala must know this though as she contributes enough.

Really i think its not so bad you are diabetic and balancing that and High cholesterol can be difficult at the best of times. Balance is whats needed. Also balance the advice you receive. We are not robots so sometimes we stray a little. recognise this and rein it back in. Yearly tests are always a bitch but keep us focused. Mine are next week. Diabetes and Hearts. Should be interesting reading for me. Can I/you do more? Of course we can.

Take peoples opinions on board and then do your own research on the facts provided. Not all advice given by your gp should be taken on face value.Do your research and evaluate the benefits and risks associated with taking a course of medication and then decide whether the side effects associated with your prescribed medication are worth risking.

everyone on a forum is entitled to an opinion.Whether you agree or not is entirely up to you as an individual.

I agree Andyman about not always taking what is on the forum as always accurate but it is people's opinions and I would always weigh them up (let's face it, if it is rubbish someone usually says so) before making a decision for myself. I would rather learn from other people's mistakes than my own.

100% agree. Some on here are clearly marketing for others. This i don't like or agree with.

All,

Thanks for your comments. This results came about because of clinical trials blood test. Have been informed I can take part in the clinical trials, awaiting for an appointment.

Will discuss the clinical trails with my GP on Monday next week.

For one month away from home, white bread toast and butter for one month for breakfast did not increase HbA1c level. In UK porridge or other breakfast cereal had made a lot of difference in HbA1c!!, increased.

Have gone back to white bread toast and butter for breakfast.

Diabetic symptoms none, do not get up in the middle of the night to go to toilet, thrust?, no. After 40 minutes in the gym do not have any issues!

Lunch, evening dinner not much of a difference at home and away from home.

I am looking to control HbA1c number rather than cholesterol number.

Food intake balance is my problem now days, still working on it, 40 years of good home cooked food, only now blood test issues are coming up. Want to enjoy life, only time will tell

Hello,

Thanks. Yes, I do keep my own records. The latest test is for clinical trails!, my NHS blood test will be towards the end of the year. There has been some change in my food intake, may be the reason for blood sugar and cholesterol numbers changing. Back on track with food intake. Will talk to my GP again tomorrow on Magnesium. Thanks.
