Meat in diet and AF
We should all know that too much meat is bad for humans. We were never designed to eat it every day. Now I'm not promoting veganism or even vegetarianism despite my wife being veggie but we do eat far too much meat. I remember years ago watching a programme about a South American tribe who went and

So cold, slow pulse, low bp, GP says I'm fine
I am feeling colder than I ever have this autumn. I am fit it is true, I've always taken a fair amount of exercise but over the last year my pulse has dropped from around 60 bpm to 50. I've always had low blood pressure 120/90 or so I think and my usual temperature is around 36C, sometimes drops to 35C

Hi allI had my AVR done in May this year, initially I had issues with heart rate jumping around 147. My medications were Bisoprolol 7.5 mg along with standard water tablets and blood thinners.Couple of months after the procedure I had to go A&E for this heart rate procedure but I was either given digoxin

I have the Kardia and have the advanced determination so it records 6 arrhythmias I have so far stayed in NSR for last 34 days, from July it has been every 7/10 days, so really pleased. But did one tonight and it gave normal sinus rhythm with wide QRS I have clicked on it and it says something about

Horrors!
I had the invasive angiogram this afternoon. This procedure was no problem apart from some four or five brief visual migraines afterwards. They found two completely blocked arteries and one badly blocked one as expected. The cardiologist said to have the triple bypass or I could expect to live about

Edema causes
I'm re-reading Ahlskog's New Parkinson's Treatment book. There are a hundred pages on Orthostatic Hypotension but just a few pages on leg edema. I use an Omron blood pressure machine. It says my BP is generally around 115/75. Out of curiosity I wrapped the cuff around my calf. I got

Welcome to my nightmare!!
For part of the trip I won’t be able to take the
CBD
oil that is keeping it somewhat under control along with 2mg slow release melatonin. I have read that 10 to 30 mg of melatonin is the favourite treatment.

Hope you are all keeping well. I haven’t been on here for a while. To be honest I have been suffering with dreadful fatigue and struggle to do the simplest chores. The weakness in my arms and legs both sides has been a nightmare. I have lost a lot of mobility in my left hand and I now think it’s affecting

AF is back after nearly 10 months…
Yesterday evening, the day after my CT angiogram, I had intermittent chest pain which seemed to be related to angina. The GP insisted I go hospital to the AMSDEC (Acute Medical Same Day Emergency Care) ward. On arrival I did a troponin test (which turned out to be normal) and all the usual tests. The

” Phosphorylation regulates the a-syn degradation”
Does exogenous AS contribute to endogenous AS? Or is AS, when ingested via dietary consumption denatured or changed in some way making this not an issue? α-Syn undergoes various post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation, truncation, ubiquitination, and nitration. Phosphorylation

My Echocardiogram
Hi guys and gals, Well I had my third Echocardiogram yesterday and will get my results in about 10 days. This is my 3rd since my AF diagnosis. The first was in Jan 2010 when I was diagnosed. The second was in October 2020 and yesterday the third. I asked the guy what showed up but he neatly sidestepped
