My Echocardiogram

Hi guys and gals,

Well I had my third Echocardiogram yesterday and will get my results in about 10 days. This is my 3rd since my AF diagnosis. The first was in Jan 2010 when I was diagnosed. The second was in October 2020 and yesterday the third.

I asked the guy what showed up but he neatly sidestepped the question ( as you'd expect) and referred me to an Admin type. Sorted. so I took a different approach and he briefly commented, "well your is well worn ( well it bloody would be as its been pumping away for 78 years)", however your BP is within your age parameters, there are no valvular issues and it is pumping strong and in rythmn .......... so thats it !

One interesting bit that I cannot recall from the other two screenings was that he spent quite a while with his 'Wand' poised over my abdomen just below my lower ribs, and in the centre of my gut. About where my bloating would start from. Bit of a way distance from my heart I thought.

Watch this space.

The operator always (should) check the aorta for any enlargement with a view to possible aneurysms . This main artery splits in two and one part rises up to feed organs at the top of your body such as brain etc. Hence rising aorta. You do need one! lol 😁

Only from the point of view that I was told to lie on my left side and the couch dug into my left and quite arthritic shoulder causing much pain. 😪
